Neurologic Exam - lmh

Posted: Jul 13, 2011

I don't normally have such a hard time with ESL physicians, but this one is killing me:

His concentration was normal, as was his speech and language ___ knowledge.

His motor examination revealed good strength, ___ and tone in all extremities. (starts with a p?)

esl neuro - ns

He's/she's probably trying to push out, "fund of knowlege" listen for that. The second one might be "power", listen for that. Hope it helps :)

Thank you! - lmh

The first one was definitely fund of knowledge, thank you!
The second one doesn't sound like power though. It sounds like pulse, would that make sense?

could be, but usually not mentioned in a motor exam. Usually under the extremities in the pe. Good luck!

Neurologic Exam.
Apr 22, 2012

Hi, I am trying to figure out a sentence in a consultation report. The sentence previous to the one in question is: "The extremities are without edema. The neurologic "exam"? is intact. There are good pulses in the periphery. Without my headphones it sounds like "exam is". With them in, it sounds like something else. I can't figure it out at all, but it sounds like it starts with a "p" and maybe has another little word with it. Any clues at all? Thanks so much for your help! Teresa ...

Can Anyone Take The RMT Exam?
Mar 23, 2010

...or are there pre-reqs?  I've looked at the main ahdi website, I just wasn't sure if when they say that you have to "apply" if that means they will look at your experience and either accept or deny you or whether applying is simply a formality so they know you want to take the test. Also, if you've already taken the test, what were some of the toughest sections (for you personally)?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ...
