A site grouped by dosages of meds? - cardmt

Posted: May 07, 2013

So many of these docs, I can hear the dosage clearly, but some completely slaughter the name of the med and others slur through it.  Is there a site I may be able to list the dosage and search that way?  I haven't found anything like this.  Thanks!

here is a suggestion - sm

type in google a * and the dosage.

* 120 mg bid

Thanks, I have been doing that but doesn't always work - cardmt

I wanted to see if there was any other option. It usually works but once in awhile doesn't so I figured I'd check! Thanks for the suggestion!

Put that all in quotation marks - And you will get just that phrase

It will help narrow it down if you put your phrase in quotation marks as well as the asterisk. The quotation marks will bring up ONLY phrases in that order.

FYI: I have a Quick Look Drug Book (yes, a book!) that lists diseases in alphabetical order and their corresponding meds and recommended doses and dosages.
Oh great! That may help when - cardmt

I have some that aren't coming up no matter what. And yes, I've always used Quick Look !! I love it, but, of course, the ones I need are never in there! I don't trust these docs or what I find online 100% so sometimes, I'll use my dictionaries to confirm. Thanks for the added detail,
You Are Welcome - Love those quotes and asterisks-nm

Good Source Of Labs For H&Ps That Are Grouped In Proper Groups
May 24, 2013

Does anyone have a good source of labs for H&Ps that are grouped in proper groups so I can quickly look and know when to put the period and start another group?  I'm looking for a quick reference sheet or something that I can refer to without having to go look up the things that I don't remember. I'm trying to learn them all but there are just so many that it's overwhelming at times.  I'd even take a Word document if you have created your own references.    ...

Different Dosages?
Dec 13, 2010

In the course of this dictation, the dosage of Mobic has been given in two different ways.  In the med list, it is listed as Mobic 15 mg daily, and in the impression/plan, it is dictated as 7.5 mg b.i.d.  Does this need to be flagged or is it okay to leave it like this since the mg come out to be the same for the day? ...

Thoughts About Our Responsibility For Dosages
Dec 30, 2011

This item was, at some point in time, added to our company standards/specification guidelines regarding dosages. I would like to know if other companies have this same policy, and other MTs thoughts on it.  This decision must have been made by an attorney, I don't know, but I question its validity, especially on a verbatim account.    MEDICATIONS: Always verify the correct spelling of medications, including the brand versus generic designation, dosa ...

Doctors Who Abbreviate Drug Dosages
Jun 18, 2015

I have noticed a disturbing trend with the doctors I transcribe for.  They will dictate medications in a dangerous way.  For example Nexium 40 rather than Nexium 40 mg.  They are seldom dictating mg, mcg, etc.  I find this dangerous and wonder if it is laziness on their part or apathy or something else.  Not to mention that it falls on the MT to "help them out" so to speak which takes time.  I just find it frustrating.  Thanks for listening. ...

OTC Allergy Meds
Nov 07, 2009

Meds I Can't Understand...

First off, is "med" an appropriate abbreviation or if I need to expand it.  Also, I'm having trouble with a few of the medications she's listing.  The first one sounds like Serapril...I know there's Seroquel, and that's a possibility, but it really sounds like she's saying, "pril."
