?? pediatric help - dm

Posted: Jan 25, 2013

hello, this sure does s/l "sure step" but can find anywhere.  thot it might be something lab wise, but no luck.  any ideas out there?  tks!!

also mother had a case of recurrent preeclampsia requiring her to be on magnesium prior to delivery of her baby. After birth, the infant's *------* step was 14 and the serum glucose at that time only measured 6. He was given 20 mL of formula and after which the *------* step only increased to 15. At that time, due to the hypoglycemia suspected due to maternal steroids, he was started on D10W fluids. Prior to the fluids, he was given 4 mL/kg bolus of D10W. After starting on the D10W at 80 mL/kg a day, his *------* step then increased and all went above 40s from that time on during his stay.

found it - dm

MDI/Transcend Pediatric Care Cert
Mar 24, 2010

I must have missed something.  Today I get an email telling me I have to go through some certification process to work on an account I've been working on for the last several years.  Was this mentioned prior to this?  Nothing was said on the last conference call about it that I recall.  I think this is getting a little ridiculous.  First the mandatory conference calls, now this.  What's next? Seriously, I'm about ready to quit.  Maybe that' ...

Wondering How You Handle On Pediatric Reports When Sm
Nov 27, 2012

doc refers to mom or mother/dad/grandma, etc.  I was taught that if it is "the mom" you would not capitalize but if you can substitute a name, then it would be capitalized.  The mom denies vomiting, but Mom states the baby..... (would that be correct as far as capitalization goes?)    ...

Pediatric Intubation S/l "Brassler" --anyone Have Experience With This?
Apr 10, 2010

This is a tough one. The patient is a child who is being intubated.  Doc says, "Using standard technique and following the dosing guidelines from the s/l Brassler tape, the patient was intubated." So I don't know if this is like a cassette tape that the doc played to reaffirm how to intubate a small child or if the "tape" is actually an instrument or what. Sorry if this is the stupidest question imaginable, but I have absolutely no clue. Hoping someone will kn ...
