Are we paid for attending these team meetings? - mt2

I did not attend the last one, guess I should attend this one, but not if I have to make up the time for listening to what could be sent in an email.

If the team meeting is mandatory, then yes, you are paid for the time. Your TSM should always tell you exactly how to enter it correctly in WebClock.

Well nothing in the email says it's mandatory so.....I'd rather work my shift. - mt2

read between the lines sometimes. If there are problems on another account on the team, I want to know so I can watch for the same issues with my account (offshoring, losing accounts, etc). Even if not instructed to, I enter the time spent on the call into Webclock as a conference call or whatever it is.

We haven't had a team meeting in several months, not since our last TSM was laid off and our teams were put under another TSM. I'm sure it's because the current TSM has her hands full and then some.

However, when we did have team meetings with our last TSM, she always told us to enter our time into Webclock for the meeting. None of them were ever stated to be specifically "mandatory", but we still claimed our time for attending. There were times when the team meetings were held on my days off, and I do not work on my days off unless I'm doing to benefit my pocketbook. :) So, when there were team meetings held on my days off and I had other things going on that needed my attention at home, I didn't attend. Besides, we had one team member in particular who dominated the team conference calls, and what should have taken 30 minutes usually ended up being over an hour of totally off-topic subjects brought up by this particular team member. It tended to be a little annoying, especially if the meeting was going on during my regular shift. I can find better things to do with my work time than have to listen to my TSM try to steer the call back to the actual topic at hand so we can be done in a reasonable amount of time.

I have to agree with mt2 in that respect. I'd rather be working my shift. :)

But, you're right about "reading between the lines." There were times when I "caught" things that were said by my previous TSM that had me put my guard up, so to speak. Otherwise, the calls were usually not very productive or informative for my situation. I think a lot of it was simply for those MLS who were new to the account/team. I've been lucky enough to be on the same accounts for 5+ years. There are not a lot of changes that need to be discussed on a conference call, and for me a simple email is sufficient.

If, however, we were told we couldn't enter time in Webclock for those meetings, I certainly wouldn't waste my time attending them for free on my days off or attending them for free during my regular shift when I could be making a little money instead.

The TSM and QC person I've worked with forEVVVVER in the west is gone, both of them being moved up into new positions, and dividing their accounts and the entire team of MTs/MMEs has been disassembled and moved to other areas.
