Typing without QA - poorasdirt

You know, I think I am typing better and faster without the fear of QA hanging over me. I never thought they were extremely helpful anyways. Usually they couldn't fill in the blanks and just nit-picked the report like a pecking bird. I have never had a report sent back from a client (knock on wood) because they were unhappy with anything. I spent far more time trying to please QA than the hospitals and doctors (and have told my supervisor that more than once). I find it kind of freeing to be able to send a quality report on to the hospital by myself and not have to have it critiqued by QA for a blank that even a psychic wouldn't know what he was saying. Sometimes I don't think the doctor knew how to pronounce a drug, disease or piece of equipment, thus he stammers, coughs, and mumbles through it.

We now don't have to worry about the issues you described as well as poor sound quality, cutoffs, etc. However, I believe that this is a privilege that should not have been given to everyone right off the bat. I also believe that the method of figuring QA submission rate and the corresponding cut in line rate is ridiculous. The good MTs should be REWARDED (wow, what a novel concept), and the bad ones should be weeded out (really should have been weeded out long ago, but that's another issue). Unfortunately, I do not think this is the way that FTR will ultimately pan out.

[ In Reply To ..]When I read what you said about *...a privilege that should not have been given to everyone right off the bat,* I just remembered that I had recieved a MQ email 3 or 4 months before FTR saying that because of my low QA submission they are allowing me to send blanks to the client without going through QA (only I was to leave an underscore blank). So maybe they were testing some of us beforehand and making us feel special, when we were just the guinea pigs. Oh well. I agree with what you and the OP are saying, though.

I too am old school and used to put in 10 blanks. However, if more than 3 had to send to QA for "help", which I always received. Now, I find I was not one of the trusted ones. How much more can someone who has been loyal and accepted pay cut after pay cut thinking it was my fault because of my personal sickness and going to PT (used to be flex, no longer). I accepted all of them. Anon, I don't think u meant to be an affront to other of us oldtimers, but how much more hypocrisy and ridicule are we to take?

I put drop cookies in the oven, set the timer for 12 minutes, then race to my computer and type. The timer goes off, I race to the kitchen, take out the cookies, put in more and set the timer again and off I go to my computer to type. The acct I am on, we have "free text cc's." you have to go into a seperate website, search the doc data base for the name and then type that info on the report. You know how long that takes?
