QA note - RIMT

Posted: Nov 25, 2013

I just got a note from my quality coach (or whatever they are called) for a QA note that I left on a patient that I did.  The quality of sound was poor to the point where I was pulling my hair out.  All I said was poor cell phone reception, poor sound quality.

what did the QC say to you? - I leave those types of notes

All the time.

It wasn't so much the QC, it was the hospital. They didn't like what was said and she told me to just put poor sound quality or some such.

we mustnt hurt - Doctor s feelings

[ In Reply To ..]
I worked for a clinic where they always referred to the doctor as Doctor wants this or Doctor wants that, in hushed tones like we were at a shrine or something. PS Why can't I put apostrophes in the subject or alias line here w/o getting a syntax error? TIA

Whatever happened to best dictation practices? - just saying

I thought Mmodal was going to crack down on those docs who use their cellphone. Apparently not. Just add it to the list of broken promises.

I was flat out told to never put a QA - not to one of mine

[ In Reply To ..]
After I had left a professional note regarding I forget what now. But, I remember the hospital it went to and now they get a marker and can figure it out themselves, the heck with them, I was trying to help them. Not anymore!!

That's polite! I would love to tell them EXACTLY how I feel sm - Dead and dying

about the quality of the sound files we have to listen to. I would love to punch these people in the face. They should have to listen to themselves and try to figure out 99.6 accurately what is being said.

I so wanted to write what I really felt but I didn't want to get fired. I'm close to retirement. But trust me, when I retire, the day I retire, every job I send, I will put a note on every dictation stating how I really feel and then laugh my butt off.

Right there with ya! Six months and counting..sm - Dead and dying

Hope to retire and not get fired!

That is certainly very mature and professional. NOT - NM

Yes! Very mature and professional just like the doctors.

What a hypocrite! I guess you're so perfect and can understand anything these docs say perfectly and it only takes 10 seconds for you to figure it out!. It used to be that hospitals 8 years ago or less, forbade anyone to dictate using a cell phone. Now, they don't care or are afraid to. I'm tired of sitting here at night sometimes crying in frustration because some idiot, rude person, is determined to eat, chew slurp, snort back snot in the back of their throat, or worse yet, hardly talk above a mumble and expect you to get what they're saying. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I once put poor dictation skills in QA note and - sm

Open Note From An MME
Feb 13, 2010

I have come on this site for awhile, mostly because this is a place where everyone gets what you do and can understand what you're going crazy over. Try telling your neighbor the ESLs are getting to you today and you get what I mean. However, since I have become an MME (in October), this has become a not so friendly place. I love doing QA work. I have been in this field for 20 years and feel I can and do help MTs out. When I make a correction, it's to give the MT some feedback, ...

Before you send in an essay with your name on it.  Think long about it.  There are a couple of issues: 1.  Taxes.  Think about how much you will have left after the taxes are taken out.  It won't be 1000 dollars.  2.  There are those of you on here talking about a union.  If any of you are serious about a union -- DO NOT sing praises about ANY MQ POLICIES.  It will come back to haunt you. 3.  Remember exactly what is going on in MQ r ...

A Note I Received
Jul 27, 2010

While on Facebook last night, I mentioned about going back to school to be a vet tech. and one of the things I mentioned was that it was work that would NOT be oursourced to India. Some guy from India sent me a message asking what was wrong with sending work to India. So I told him how it has decimated the careers of American MTs, how American MTs often can't even earn a living wage because they are competing with the low wages paid to Indian MTs. I could have said more to him, but I left i ...
