New Member here at MTStars...and MModal - Coco

Hi Everyone!

It's my first time here at the site.  Coincidentally, I was Googling MModal and their holiday policies when I came across this site. 

I've worked for MModal for about four months now, and to say it has been a challenge working for them is an understatement.  I previously worked for the University of Miami for 13 years when they decided to lay off the entire in-house MT staff.  Luckily (or not, depending on whom you ask), MModal gave us job offers on the spot back in February on the same day when we received our pink slips from UM.  

At the time MModal offered us job opportunities, it was assured to us that the accounts we had worked on at UM would be PRIORITY and we would always get those first.  Well, that 'promise' wasn't kept and we get EVERYTHING except for what was promised us in terms of the accounts we were familiar with. 

Out of the UM MTs, six of us took the MModal offer.  As of this message posting, one gal quit while another gal was fired.

As if it wasn't bad enough that we are not getting the accounts we were supposed to be given priority to, having to learn new client profiles with endless foreign doctors, take a pay cut (despite being in Tier III status), and having new accounts seep into our queues on a weekly basis, the support from management is not there.  Just asking the simplest of requests seems to be a problem for them.  

I still communicate with my old boss at UM, and she is PI**ED at the situation. MModal has relinquished control from her in terms of routing work, the doctors over at UM aren't happy because the quality of their work has deteriorated, we are not happy that we are not getting the work we are familiar with, and MModal doesn't give a damn. 

I'm thankful at least that I don't rely solely on the paltry paycheck I get from MModal every other week, because I would have quit this job sooner.  I can only hope for UM to raise enough hell to MModal to fix the problem and give us the accounts back, but that's just a pipe dream.

I'm done with my venting, at least for now.
