I worked for MQ many, many years ago when they bought the company I was working for. From reading this board, it appears some things never change and only get worse. I remember having to switch from one account to the other constantly and trying to keep track of client profiles. Glad I am out of there!!

I do an average of 15 accounts daily. I might get a run of 2 or 3 reports from the same hospital, but usually each and every report is different. So, I spend more time looking at client profiels than editing.

It is crazy. There is no way to remember each account, I constantly mix stuff up, forget to change cc to mL, forget to leave mL and change it to cc; add patients name, dont add patients name; caps, stacked left, paragraph format.

Every day I feel like I am in a thick fog and cant see, it is so hard to breathe, am I drowning?

That is what I do because I hated wasting time searching through the CP for the same info all the time. I have a note card for each account with PE ROS, allergies and patient name and then all the quirks listed (like cc or how they want the date or no q.h.s.) Then every time we get an email stating "Dr. Whoever wants this" I just add the info to the notecard. Some days I just feel like I am shuffling cards, but it really does help me. I know that in a few months MQ will do the management shuffle again and I will end up with all new accounts. In fact, I have ended up reusing some of the cards because the accounts ended up back in my pool. I know many other people have other tips and you just need to find what works best for you.

I used to keep note cards, too, until I was dinged for not following the CP. Apparently, my note card was out of date (2 months old). They can't be bothered to let us know when the CP changes. They will, however, e-mail us if a doctor is unhappy about something, so they get to savor slapping our wrists.

Feel like I am on a spinning top all day trying to keep up with who wants what at which facility for Dr. Whoozit. Very hard to make any money, but sure easy to make mistakes -- not on medical dictation, but on the profile drivel.

I know this b/c I specifically could not find a doctors name in the database for one particular job and I blanked it, wrote it down so I would remember the job number and what I blanked and when my corrections came through today, that name was filled in as if I put it there, there was no blank no more with a correction that I put in the incorrect name. I know that I blanked it. This is rediculous!!! I can't wait to find another job! ...

I noticed things starting to change at WMX when they bought that transcription company..what was it about 1 year or 2 ago. As changes were constantly being made, even our managers werent as nice as they used to be. I started there more than 7 years ago and it was great back then, but then after about 5 years, things started happening and none of the changes benefitted the MTs. ...

Gets so frustrating every day to constantly get the bad dictators over and over. Hundreds of different dictators on this account, yet I get same bad dictators, 3-4 reports at least in a row of each bad dictator lined up, and they aren't due back for quite some time, compared to the many other better dictators that were dictated long before the ones I am getting. And they wonder why no one wants to work OT...what's the point. If things aren't fair during my shift ...

Have ya ever wondered, WHY is it that we get "audited" when we are having really, really bad work days? Why does the "computer randomly chose" (ha!) the most difficult, awful report to review? All headers are now no longer counted in the line count. We're already out of work most of the time and now this. We don't get paid for cc's that we add or all the info on the pt before we ever start typing. I'd say when we do have work they're getting a lot of free work from us. ...

Thanks to all who replied. I wonder if my spellcheck is even turned on because the double words are not being caught. I have even wondered if the software is putting words in.
