Which search engine do you use? - mtathome

Wondering which search engine you use to find words? Is it just Google or are there other search engines you've found works better for finding words?

I use Google all the way for my general searches.

I have a Firefox add-on that puts a search engine box on the top of all my windows, I can select Google or whatever and just click search.

I use - Google

on my work computer, but I use Yahoo on my home computer.

I use MT word seeker and Google - Jen

Which is a custom version of Google for MTs. Also use Google and sometimes Yahoo.

Duck Duck Go - safer than Google

I've used Duck Duck Go for about 3 years. I love it for many reasons, but most importantly because DDG doesn't track its users like Google. I'm not bombarded with ads, and I'm safer when I purchase online and pay bills online when I'm on DDG. Also, when I need help related to DDG, I just email Gabriel Weinberg, the owner, and he responds almost immediately.

site is "Medical Transcription Word Seeker," which also has doctor look-up city/state features and many more. I also use MedLexicon for abbreviations, and OneLook for a dictionary.

I use it too. Has lots of options to narrow your searches to just specific groups of websites. It has a pretty long address though, not easy to remember. Here it is:

I am not sure what's going on of late, but I don't seem to get relevant search results when I use G. I search for a medical word, but get results from sites that have nothing to do with medicine. I end up questioning the credibility of these search results and have to research more. Needless to say, I've been losing money spending so much more time researching words. Sometimes, I just wonder if I could have access to a medical search engine to cut out the non-medical stuff. Anyone ...

How do you search anything on here anymore? If I want to check past posts on a particular company, etc.? Did they do away with that? If so I don't think that was a great idea. I like to be able to look up info here by doing searchs of old posts first to see if my questions were already answered. I don't want to waste someones time if they just answered the same question last week, etc. Can I still do a search and if so how? Thanks! ...
