Synernet positive feedback - TG

Posted: Jun 08, 2015

Just wondering if anybody has any positive feedback on Synernet and currently works there.  Kind of interested in the per diem posting.  What's your thoughts on that?

TIA

Synernet doesn't hire MTs from CA and a few - other states that have

[ In Reply To ..]
employee-friendly labor laws. Therefore, I have NOTHING good to say about them. They only want employees they don't have to be so fair too. For example, in CA the employer HAS to either provide work or has to pay (up to a point) for OOW. Not so in other states.

You should be fine with per diem work. I would not - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
recommend hiring on full-time though. Be prepared for feast or famine anymore, all within a day's time. No continuity to the work flow either; you never know what to expect when you come on to work. Still having some problems with their system going down. Not sure what that is. I'm pretty fed up with them and all their little glitches, but I would work per diem for them if they'd let me.

I'm still reeling from the loss of EC. Afraid I cannot think of anything positive. nm - Another one bites the dust

xx

that was a shock to see... how long had EC been with Synernet - synmt001

[ In Reply To ..]
So sad :(

She was one of the best supervisors, so that - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
should tell us something. The turnover in supervisors is getting to be quite obvious. I will miss her.
EC - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
Yup, another one bites the dust and always the good ones too. Mean witchy supervisors should go, not her. I think she had health issues so I hope she sues them.
Laughable - LOL!
[ In Reply To ..]
You don't know what you are talking about. You should probably keep to the facts!
So what are the facts? You seem to have - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
inside knowledge. Inform us of the facts. Easy to just say she doesn't know what she's talking about. I don't think you know either. I do know all the good supervisors are gone now except 2.
Don't worry about that person above you - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
Chances are she is one of the meanie girls or one of the top 2 meanie girls. You will get nothing but attitude and nasty from those. And regarding EC she was a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy world. She will move onto a brighter future and leave behind a lot of trouble. All my best to her. She was always always good and fair and definitely not a meanie girl.
EC - MT there
[ In Reply To ..]
Keeping pushy supervisors is a criteria for the position.
all but 2? - MT1000
[ In Reply To ..]
Who are the 2 good ones left? I know of 1 sneaky one that better watch her back. big brother is watching.
Good ones not - MTthere
[ In Reply To ..]
And don't think MTs do not know which supervisors are sneaky. Cherry picking, having super pets and enjoy making people miserable during their 8 hours. So good big brother, keep it up. A little kindness goes a long way and EC was very kind and caring.

What happened to EC? - Ex-SMT

[ In Reply To ..]
I used to work for Synernet, but left about 2 years ago. What happened to EC? She was always one of the very few nice ones there from what I remember. Synernet was, by far, the most screwed up company I have ever had the displeasure of working for.

Hiring - MTthere

[ In Reply To ..]
Now they are hiring part time again? I wanted to go from full time to part time but was told no. They must be scraping the bottom to get people to apply.

Positive feedback -You should apply - I love it

[ In Reply To ..]
They are hiring per diem NOT part time.

Positive feedback- You should apply - I love it - SynMT-er

[ In Reply To ..]
They are indeed hiring for part-time Acute Care. "Full and part-time positions are available on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Per diems have the opportunity to work when the time is convenient for them and do not have a set schedule."
must be a newbie.. give it a few months and tell of your experience - SynMT-er2
[ In Reply To ..]
NM
Again, you don't know what you are talking about - Been there 5 years
[ In Reply To ..]
NOT a newbie by any means.
Actually I think it is the awesome poster! lol - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I agree though. Give it a few months. Definite honeymooner
This place is nasty, nasty, nasty - MT72
[ In Reply To ..]
If they are nasty they will last. If not then they will find out. Not that they were not warned. Trust me it is not the last place on earth to work there are better ones just in that particular neighborhood. Way better. And believe it or not being an MT does NOT mean it is your job to be bullied. Normal companies do NOT bully their employees. Just a word to the wise.

Nope - Sammi

[ In Reply To ..]
No positive feedback here.

I think it's funny that - ms

[ In Reply To ..]
you all refer to management as the "Mean Girls." I think this board should be called the "Hater's Club!"

I think if I see another email that says - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
"we're working on hiring more MTs to fill these holes in the weekends" one more time I'll puke. Or, "we have another group starting this week." Or, "hopefully we won't have to have MOT for very much longer." Or the new one of, "IT is working on fixing this so it won't happen anymore." That's what I hate.

Maybe because it's true - MJ

[ In Reply To ..]
I worked there for almost 2 years, so I can attest to the fact that every single complaint I have read on this board about management is completely true. They are nothing but middle school girls in the bodies of grown women.
They're not all mean girls - or witches
[ In Reply To ..]
If you haven't worked here in 2 years how can you say all the supervisors are bad? I'm just an MT, not a supervisor or manager or BFFs with any of them. I've worked here for several years and yes, I get frustrated and don't like a lot of the changes or the ESLs or the new pools or the OT or the repetitive emails. But I also know that out of something like 175+ MTs there are some who love it here, as well as some who just do the job with good days and bad days like everywhere, some who aren't real happy but figure it's probably as good as anywhere - and then some who come on here and do nothing but bitch about "mean girls" and "witches" and make it sound like a slave ship. Those who are constantly complaining need to turn in their notice and go somewhere else since apparently anyplace else will be better and those who no longer work here just need to call it a day, get over it, and keep moving along. It might not be the worst idea in the world that some MTs find out for themselves if it's a good place for them. I'm beginning to wonder exactly who are the middle schoolers. If the attitudes here are the same used when dealing with the supervisors or managers, maybe it's no wonder some of them simply respond in kind and act "mean" or "witchy." I know I'm only opening myself up to the equivalent of a lynching here but all I see here about Synernet is the exact same complaints with the same wording over and over and over again.
wrong profession - mt
[ In Reply To ..]
You all need to go work for Tupperware, Pampered Chef or Mary Kay where you can be your own boss and get out of this profession, and if not just shut up and take the good with the bad like the rest of us. It's just the nature of the beast with this job. I agree, just keep reading the same garbage over and over.. just move on.
OK JT I will. - MT72
[ In Reply To ..]
nuff said.
JT - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
OH.MY.GOD. Do you think MT really takes the time to read this garbage? And I am glad you are taking my advice. Take your other Debbie downers with you.
You're pretty naive if you think they don't. - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
You think they just post their jobs and then ignore this board? HaHa. They read it. Wouldn't you if you were them? Too bad they don't take some of it to heart though. I don't think they would post here though. It would be beneath them to associate with us peasants. HaHa.
But T posted once ... signed it "The Manager." LOL nm - Will never forget that
[ In Reply To ..]
Synernet looks best in the rear view mirror.

This is what I was told about per diem - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Got this in an email - Per diems have the opportunity to work when the time is convenient for them and do not have a set schedule. Per diems must keep a QA score of above 98% and they must transcribe a minimum of 4,000 lines per week and produce 125+ lines per hour. A minimum of 20 hours per month must be worked during the weekend (Saturday/Sunday).

Needless to say, I think I'm going to just ignore this plea for an interview.

Plea for an interview - lv

Something Positive To Say
Mar 27, 2010

I get on this site every now and then and it is so disheartening to see so many people frustrated with their employers.  I work for two different companies and I have to say I love them both.  I work for OSi and I work for All Type.  Both treat me fairly, respond rapidly to questions and are nice employers.  I've always been paid on time, they both understand emergencies and I make a good income from each.  There are good companies and there are nice people to work ...

TTD- Anything Positive On Them?

Something Positive
Jun 22, 2013

I just wanted to mention something positive about MT, my experience.  There are a lot of negatives posted about the MT field on this board, and I'm not discounting anybody's experience, as, yes, there have been changes in this field, and some of those changes have hit people hard and are not fair.  I just wanted to give encouragement to people who like MT that there are some positive things/companies still going on.  I have 7 years of experience.  I graduated from C ...

Some Positive Words, Please!
Dec 30, 2009

Man, I can see the changes in the transcription industry (admittedly negative changes) have really gotten us down and we're stuck in a mire of complaints, bad feelings and feeling tired and fed up!  I feel the same way, and I feel that greed and the economy are to blame.  But sometimes you just need to hear a positive word to make it through the day, or through the week.  Here is mine - I am thankful that I do not have to spend money on work clothes and ga ...

Sure Could Use Some POSITIVE Energy
Nov 25, 2010

Not everyone is unhappy with MT work right now.  Lots of times this board is filled with much negativity and I think it is a disservice to each other.  Sometimes we need to vent, but sure would like to see people with more positive things that are happening in their life post on here, and not just read on here.  I think it is unfair to dissuade newcomers to the profession.  Give them an accurate vision of what it is like, both pros and cons.  But, I think it's wron ...

Can We Have Something Positive For A Change?

On A POSITIVE Note
May 20, 2012

I know it's rare for this board if, heaven forbid, anybody put anything positive on here.
