Softscript or Nuance - MTanon

Trying to decide which to test for. Tried to send an email to SS regarding their current add for a transcriptionist for an orthopedic account but it returned undeliverable using their email address provided on their site. Anyone know of another way to contact them? Thank you

I was wondering about SS too. Does anyone know what their standard pay is ? Do they have health insurance/how much for just employee? TVMIA

The pay will end up to be about the same when you factor in everything, platform, etc. So pushing that out of the way, you will have less work with Nuance and more headache with them. Overall, I would pick SoftScript. They rarely run out of work, but I guess that depends on how many accounts you are on. There are not nearly as many headaches either. Of course, I would not recommend Nuance to an enemy.

I've worked for both also and left both only to come back to Nuance through an acquisition of the company where I was an IC. If you can work for Nuance, try to possibly get the ambulatory side. Then you can get on accounts where you have exclusives. This guarantees (almost) a steady paycheck and more flexibility. SS ties you to your computer and work a shift that is set in stone. Don't ever ask to change for any reason even if your husband died and you needed to work a different shift to get kids off to school. They bit my head off and I left. I loved the accounts though.

I have not worked for Nuance, but worked for SS and hated it! In my 80 hour schedule, I would get about 40 hours of work, but was required to check back every 20 minutes. I had 4 different accounts with all different acct specs.

Nuance Fiesa is about to drive me insane. 0.25 deduction for not putting a period in. REALLY???? I have taken so many tests lately with probably dozens of companies. I am wondering how you feel about Nuance tests and if it is harder or easier than the other companies. I personally thought Softscript test was kind of hard, compared with Nuance. Some of the transcription audio files were a little hard with mumbling and fast talking dictators, but really not bad when compared to others. According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I have noticed a significant decline in my line count with Softscript ever since their blooper that happened on MT week. I dont really understand how that has affected my line count so much but I used to type 23 jobs and get about 1000 lines. Now I type 23 jobs on the same accounts and get 700 lines. Something is wrong with this picture. I am looking for another job, I just feel like I'm wasting my time. ...

I tried applying for that job once, but they said that they wanted "recent" experience and the last time I did pathology was in 2001. And yet, they keep advertising for that position. I've not been working for SS very long and have been doing QA for them. I was wondering if anyone who reads this board is a QA, or has been a QA, for SS and, if so, do they audit you? How strict are the audits? What happens if you don't make the score? I have a friend who used to work for SS a couple years ago and she said that she quit because the audits were "nitpicky." Have over 10 years experience, have applied twice, have left my shift to work open. Have nothing against me, great references. Their email address they provide on their website when submitting emails to returns stating not a working email/no longer exists...Not one reply back. Do not answer their phones. No response to application. Yet, every week, they post begging for people. IMO, companies like this, aren't worth 2 cents. If the people they hire ...
