I am considering applying with Q.E.D. Transcription. They seem to be a stable company to work for from what I've read. Does anyone have any experience with them or input? Any info appreciated! Thanks.

Thanks, and yes, I've heard of Amphion. However, Ihaven't delved into their hiring process lately. I'm sure someone knows about them!

They seem to be an okay company from the website, but I live in the wrong State so cannot apply to them. Therefore, have no first-hand knowledge to offer you.

I did found it somewhat odd that they want you to take a SPEED typing test. I would think it would be more important to have someone who knows the terminology and have applicants take more transcription tests.

I just wish they would let you know BEFORE you take their typing test that they only hire Medical Transcriptionists from 28 of the 50 States. Kind of a waste of time for people from the other 22 States, including California, New York, and Illinois where there are a lot of MTs. They seem to only hire from smaller States. I wonder what is up with that?

It does sound like a small company, so you may not be able to find a lot of people who work for them on the Board. That is probably why you have not gotten any responses to your question.

Speed Typing Test - The first assessment test is to gauge your typing speed. We require a minimum of 50 to 60 WPM. There is a warm up exercise available that we recommend you do prior to testing.

I applied to them a few years ago. They seemed nice enough, but they expected me to be at my desk constantly, awaiting their call. Then, it turns out, the job was for an account with a 95-space line at 6 cpl. I said "no thanks."

So, if you do apply and you are offered a position, be sure to ask them the details of their version of what constitutes a line.

It was for a behavioral health/psych account, so supposedly "easier," and thus the 6 cpl on a 95-character line. Yah, easier, sure. Wonder how many ESLs on it?

Definitely find out ASAP line rate, characters per line. There is a tiered pay system too, and maybe there are better-paying accounts.
