NEMT - New England Medical Transcription - nn

Posted: Oct 08, 2010

Not sure what is up but find it odd with this company.  I passed their tests and of course they send me paperwork to fill out as a new hire whjich I did.  Get an email stating that the HR person would contact me to set up an interview.  Okay, maybe I need a nap, but I sent them paperwork telling them the schedule that I would be available to work; sent it along with testing files, then got another email as to my schedule and availablility (this was with the "Welcome to NEMT email").  I get an email today stating positions are "now filled." Again and a vent, but to me, getting hopes up and then dashed.

It seems to happen a lot. I just posted a note in regard to my experience with another MTSO. I passed the test, received e-mail that I would be contacted by a recruiter and then never heard another word. Some places never get back to you at all, some of them schedule appointments to interview and then "forget" to call. Yes, it is the pits having your hopes dashed, probably a blessing in disguise, though. :-)

They don't pay much anyway, and the QA will nitpick you to death over commas. - LTMT

Still, sorry for the way you were treated. I'm sure that is disappointing. Hope you find something great!

I sent them my resume the end of September and got an email the middle of this week with an attachment telling me a litle about their company. I emailed them back with some questions of my own, which they answered very promptly. They sent test files as well. They pay only 7 cpl as an IC and I just could not work for that little as an IC. On the other hand, if it was employee status I would have taken their test files. The account was going to be straight typing and that is a big plus and they do not offshore. The account I applied for was a clniic account. Just curious - is this the same position you applied for???

what... there is no work there! - unbelievable

GO FIGURE.

Do not understand - RLee

Of course there is work there or I am presuming that is why they were hiring - LOL. I was offered 7 cpl as an IC and it was required of me to do between 500 lines up to 1000 lines per day. That adds up to only $35 to $70 per day and as an IC I cannot make a living on that. It is not worth my time or effort at this particular time.

I am one of those who make 35 a day!!! Takes 4 hours to do it also on those clinic accounts....

They don't pay on time either. - anonymous

Still waiting for checks since May from the one in Connecticut, also called THR solutions. Keep an eye out.

I do not work there, but have heard nothing but a downside about them. Perhaps you are fortunate not to be there. I am hoping something better is out there for you.

SHOCKED - Becky

I am SHOCKED at people saying negative things about NEMT. They are a dream job to me compared to what I had before. They always pay on time, direct deposit or hard check, weekly. They have a good platform (chartnet) with a built in expander. They have their own IM system. The QA is CONSISTENT and gives you feedback in a timely manner ALL the time. My AM is prompt, courteous and always available. My account never runs out of work. It is straight transcription with no VR. No work goes to India WHATSOEVER. You are audited 4 times a year, and if you pass you get a bonus check. I came to this job with 4 years experience, and I definitely still consider myself "new" at this, and I was offered more than 7 cpl...you can't believe everthing others say. This company is WONDERFUL, and I hope to be here for a long time to come. Becky

Oh, and... - Becky

Also, they appreciate their MTs. We got a gift card to Amazon for MT appreciation week and a planner for Christmas. These small tokens from my company show me I am appreciated. Let's face it, we all want to be appreciated, even when we don't "see" our bosses and coworkers face to face. Another NEMT plus.

Negativity - RLee

I only stated that I could not make a living at 7 cents per line as an IC - otherwise the company sounds GREAT, but not just the right fit for me financially. If it was employee status with benefits I would consider them without a doubt.

Medical Transcription At Home To Become A Medical Scribe?
Jan 20, 2015

Has anybody left medical transcription at home to become a medical scribe?  I have an opportunity to do so but there aren't any scribes currently in my area and I don't know anyone who has worked as a scribe before.  The scribe position starting pay is almost double what I make as an MT per hour so it is very tempting, I just don't know much about it. ...

U.S. Transcription Non Medical
Sep 01, 2011

I answered an ad for U.S. Transcription posted on MT Jobs, was asked to test, and within an hour of submitting my test I was offered a job.  After my heart came down from a happy dance at an actual job offer, I found I really have some things to think about before I say yes. This would be for 2nd shift, non-medical transcription at 0.06/cpl for straight transcription, 0.03/cpl if a company provided template is used.  I suppose I need to ask what my expected production would be before ...

I'm a 2011 MT grad who posted not long ago looking for advice.  While googling MT companies to apply to, I found some non-medical transcription services, namely one that transcribes dialogue from a video for production/entertainment companies.  This site had instructions and a download to take the test.  What the heck, I'm going to take it and see what happens.  Since MT is practically a dead-end career, I've been trying to come up with ther ways to utilize my ...

Thank You Medical Transcription
Aug 23, 2013

I quit a job a dozen years ago to jump into the "Work At Home" dream.  I had little money, was quite naive, worked from dark to dark with absolutely no help from the small MTSO, who later ripped me off $5,000.  BUT, I learned. After my first experience with "running out of work", I just found more work.  I got unusually lucky and found a job and was MTing again in a few days. That gig gave me nearly 10 years of working for another small MTSO.  I got busy and made tons of mon ...
