Does anyone have any input on InScribe? - feltx

Posted: Jul 02, 2013

Does anyone have any input on InScribe?  I want to work for a company that pays on time and the QC is not so nit picky.  I  am ready to give up on my current employer's  expectations, as I can't seem to meet them or the bonus.  I am sure some of you can guess who I work for.  Any input would be appreciated.  :)

I work for Inscribe and in the four years I have worked for them, I have never been paid late, so you would never have to worry about not being paid on time. They do have a requirement of a 99.5% QA accuracy score, and I have never had a problem meeting that. I enjoy working for them and have always been treated fairly.

I worked for them briefly this year. I wouldn't do it again. The video you listen to is a great philosophy but fear they are wavering from that philosophy with their new model. Getting set up and training was a nightmare. Even signing their paperwork electronically, had to do it several times, but I was apparently the ginnea pig on their new "model". They set me up on an acct I couldn't work on knowing what type of foot pedal I had. I had no idea who I was supposed to be reporting to for about 2 weeks. Tech installed the incorrect software, or rather was incomplete and had to have more software installed 4 days later. After 2 weeks to get completely set up and I then waited for a couple more days as it appeared I was a bother to the team lead who kept pushing back training times. She then during training realized I could not work on the acct they assigned me. So had to opt for another which was quickly done. No problems whatsoever with pay except it is an exceptionally low wage and hard to make any money due all the requirements of the MLS. As I understand it all their accts you have to copy and paste and manually fill in demos because there is no interface. Needless to say after realizing I was making $4 an hour if that, I ended my IC position there. You also have to be on this call list that generates automated calls (you cannot opt out of it) to you all hours of the day or night when your account is behind or in need of help because no one is working. They do not require set schedules by any of the ICs which creates the problem of phone calls in the middle of the night. You also have to be on AOL IM during your scheduled shift and if you have a blank you have to ask in the chat room they set you up in for someone to listen to the blank. If you have a blank you cannot get after asking for a listen in the chat room by your peers, you have to then send an email to your TLs and I guess the mgr so they are alerted to the job with the blank. Their apparent "new model" really is an inefficient process in my mind. That being said the 2 TLs and their mgr were really good people. I recently started working for ImedX. Pay scale is ok, good people, great platform, fast set up. Haven't gotten paid yet but presume I will be paid on time. Just so you know quality is going to be a focus no matter where you go because these are legal documents and can affect people's lives when in error. Good Luck!

Wow, Inscribe sounds like a nightmare nm - me

Definitely offshore company.

so? - their money spends

I surely wouldn't take a job because it's an offshore company. My family has to eat and their money spends just as efficiently as an American company's does.
Some people like to know this info, for future job security reasons, etc. - like me

I was bought out by an offshoring company (Nuance) after having made a big effort to find a non-offshoring company prior to that and getting in there.  My current MTSO is a non-offshoring one again.  I'm at the point where I won't actually reject a job possibility anymore because they offshore, but if they don't, it's a big plus in my book and definitely a factor in my acceptance decisions.

so? - Okay

I think they're nuts.

I took/passed their tests, had a good interview...then came the software installation. The tech guy tied up my computer for four hours over two days installing a ridiculous amount of software, ignored me when I asked what it was (I am not technically ignorant), then--on the second day--announced he'd have to finish up "later."

Over the next few days I repeatedly e-mailed the tech guy and the owner to ask if and when this would be finished up so we could get started.

No answer.

In the meantime, I was getting mass e-mails to all the MTs about one thing or another. After ten days of this, I was told the tech guy "forgot" to finish up.

I hope you told them you forgot why you wanted the job - Going through something similar

[ In Reply To ..]
Not with InScribe, but I'm going through something similar with another company. Getting set up on a platform and waiting to train, but looking at the nonstop emails changing this, changing that, revising this, replace that with this...ummm, I'm beginning to realize the delay in training was probably a blessing in disguise. I don't need this kind of headache, lol!

What I Finally Told Them - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I told them to please stop e-mailing me, and that their failure to perform voided any contract/agreement between us. I added that if this was indicative of how they operate, it was best that I found sooner vs. later.

Has to be NUANCE. LOL..... Another baited - hook gets a fish. NM

Assigned the wrong account to start with. Program installed, computer had major issues after that. You are required to have your blast room window open on AOL (can you believe anybody still uses aol?) and you must read everything that comes up and it's nonstop. You'll get different info depending on who the QA people are. You NEVER meet or speak with your manager, nor are you allowed to contact her. The options for opting out of being called are very slim. The account I was given had 9 jobs in a week, that's it, nine. Some people were nice, some were a bristle short of a broomstick.

Can I Get Some Input On PTO Please.
Jul 11, 2011

We only have 3.?? hours every pay period of PTO until after 4 years with the company.  I was off last week and for each day for PTO I indicated 7 hours per day.  This will give me 1 extra day of PTO over the year at 7 hours pay.  I do not know if that is allowed, they may require us to indicate 8 if we took the whole day off.  Will see what happens about that.  I wish I could put 6 hours per day, leaving me more hours of PTO. We have 2 days paid sick time, which I have ...

Thanks For The Input
Jan 11, 2012

I am very happy to have found this forum. I thank you all for the input on companies. I worked for a company for three years and was frustrated to the point of going nuts. I broke three keyboards and threw books at the wall. I had never experienced this when I worked directly for a practice and had to leave there too. I messed up my left wrist trying to make the lines they expected and took 10-12 a day since their platform was so very slow. I ended up taking a medical month leave of absen ...

Need Some Advice And Input...
Jun 22, 2010

I recently started working PT for a company.   So far, everything has been great with them.  Great work to do, good line counts, pay is on time every time and accurate.  However, something in the back of my mind keeps bugging me.  They didn't ask me to fill out a W-9 form.  Is this normal for PT IC work?  I mentioned it to them and didn't get a reply back about it.    Perhaps, I'm just being paranoid, but I'd like to know your th ...

I May Take A Job With Accentus. Looking For Input.
Mar 11, 2012

I would be doing cliniic work because I want the flexible 12-hour schedule to fit around a part time job working directly for a small hospital.   I may end up being bored, but I want to give it a try.  How is the clinic work and how is the Apex system?  I have previously worked on DocQspeech and Escription.  I really want no more than two accounts and to be mostly just left alone unless I screw something up.  Is this possible with Accentus? ...

Input Wanted From My Fellow MQ'rs
Jun 10, 2010

I'm totally getting burned out at MQ.  If it's not the NJA with requests to change schedule, then it's the lack of primary and getting other unknown accounts slowing me down.  I've gone from full-time at MQ down to working part-time with another part-time job to make up lost income now for the past 7 months.  When I started MT'ing so many years ago, the pay was great and being able to set my own schedule was a real plus as well.  It was the ...

Why Isn't ASR Programmed To Input Dates
Nov 10, 2010

I am doing a lot of cancer clinic notes today (very long reports).  They all have lots of dates in them due to the various tests and treatments the patients have had. This particular facility wants the dates typed out in XX/XX/XXXX fashion; however ASR types them out the long way, i.e., August 26, 2010, so I have to change them all to fit the client profile. It's rather annoying.  I figured that ASR was supposed to be formatted to be in line with the different client profiles. ...

Kinda Upset, Would Like Input

I've been working in an office for only about 3 months now after about 12 years in-home transcription.  It's a busy office for a doctor who is kind of a "superstar" in his field and I love it.  Here's the thing...  it's a new practice, the entire staff has been here for less than a year and we don't all have hardly any PTO saved up (less than a year and all...) and the doc is going to be closing up the office for 2 weeks to go on vacation.  Several of ...

Drs. Who NEVER Input Patient Names.
Jun 27, 2012

How annoying is that? There are a few doctors on my account that don't bother inputting the patient name into the demographics, don't spell it, don't give a date of service...they just say a name and start dictating. They do this for every report, and it's been that way since I started working here! I have a rule where I only try 2 spellings of the name to find the patient. Otherwise it gets pended. What do you guys do?     ...

Who Should I Address Petition To? Need Input.

I am increasingly disgusted and appalled over what this industry has turned into and what the big MTSOs are getting away with at the expense of our ranks.  I don't know if it will have any effect, but I would like to do something to try.  I would like to start a petition through Change.org and state our plight.  This would include the need for wage standards including a minimum wage mandate as well as the offshoring problem and how it is affecting our economy as well as us, f ...
