Accentus - FL - let go today :( - LisaCT

Posted: Feb 03, 2012

Feeling down and out today, was removed from an account.  My 4 weeks on QA was up, did my best, but seems like they want 100% no errors.  Anyone else feel my pain?? Its a blow to my confidence, been doing MT for 10 years, I have another job test to take, so hopefully will get another job soon.

RE: Accentus FL - let go - Another MT

I know how you feel. I worked for another company for 3 weeks, really liked the account, the doctors were easy. Every other company I worked for prior to this one, I was off of QA in less than a week with doctors that were much more difficult. This company, too, wanted 0 errors, 100% quality. The errors in my reports were not terminology, medication, or lab errors. They were "style errors." The problem is, QA was never consistent. They would tell me to put a comma here, don't put a comma there, hyphenate a word, don't hyphenate a word, etc. Would implement the changes from my feedback only to have another QA tell it was wrong. Needless to say, not one report that I typed was error free, according to them. I saw the writing on the wall and quit. It was a no-win situation. There are good companies out there, though. Don't let one bad experience get you down.

Let go - dt

I too had the same thing with a company with QA. I was harassed so much on a daily basis that I ended up quitting. I have 10 yrs. experience and never had any complaints all those yrs and those QA people were breaking my spirit to the point where I sat and cried daily. I lost my 10 yr. position only because the contract went to VR so I know what you're going through. Now I can't find a job doing transcription because most of the jobs are VR and I have no VR experience so don't know if I'll get hired.

vr - what kind

[ In Reply To ..]
VR is not that bad, each platform is different, they should have to train you some. You see the report on the screen, listen to the report, and read the crap that the computer thinks it heard the doctor say, and you change the words to what was really said. Just twice the work of transcribing it yourself and getting paid half as much. Not that difficult to catch on to VR, just a major pain to want to.

VR is easy, but it actually makes me sleepy! I find that transcription is more challenging and keeps me awake! I know not much straight typing left though these days, we all will be doing VR.

Thanks, it was weird cause they took me off QA after the first week and were happy with my work. I saw the writing on the wall like yourself, they stuck me with a RA account, instead of the surgical I was told in the beginning, but I held on. I liked the accounts though, they were the best dictators. Guess only for the MT's that can do 100% free errors.

100% error free is impossible unless you literally - PAMT

[ In Reply To ..]
go back and relisten to every single report you have done and obviously you will make no money. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of when they start nitpicking a comma etc when the work going to India is pathetic. No human being is 100% error free consistently day in and day out. I would never work for a place that put me through that. I certainly proof all my work to a point especially the procedures that point a patient in one direction or another but for the routine things I dont. This job has become a pin money job to supplement another income.
Wonder if the docs who dictate are held to the same standard? - rukiddinme

100% error free is not humanly possible.
No one is held to the same - ridiculous standard....
[ In Reply To ..]
From the dictators to those compiling the MD databases and account instructions, also MTSO management, administrative, clerical, payroll personnel----NONE are held to the same ridiculously unrealistic, unattainable standards that the MT is held to. This double standard is so hypocritical that it is laughable.
My ex is a doctor and they don't care about silly commas! - LRL
[ In Reply To ..]
This nitpicking is so stupid as my ex does op reports every day and he said he could not care less nor DOES HE KNOW if the commas are in the right place. He just wants the procedure spelled correctly and as he dictated. That is it. Put 2 English teachers in a room with the same report and I bet they differ on where the commas go. It does nothing to the body of the report. So stupid.

Worked for this company when it was ZyloMed - anon

I had the same comflicting feedback from QA, which was frustrating. One would tell you to do this a certain way and another would tell you that it was okay. Also, it was quite "harsh" at times. I don't mind being corrected but don't be demeaning in doing it, ya know? I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, LisaCT, and I wish you luck in your future job search. Sometimes, things that seem like hardships turn out to be blessings in disguise, so don't be discouraged!

Thank hon, I needed your post this a.m. as they I was sent a "harsh" email from the manager this a.m. about not disparaging them on this website. Yes, they were formerly Zylomed.

I worked for a company and I went through the same thing. I know that "incompetent feeling", but trust me it is not you!!! I actually had a QA person totally out to get me. It got to the point that I was copying and pasting my reports in my computer and then comparing them to the reports "corrected" by a certain QA person and she was actually changing my reports so that I would have mistakes!!! I told my supervisor, but of course was told I had to prove it and saving my own reports wasn't proof enough so I ended up getting fired after working there for 15 years. Now the company I work for I just recently found out that some of the QA people are from India....really?? I started looking at some of my QA'd reports and the corrections are totally horrendous!!! They don't even make any sense....I think I'm going to be looking for another job soon!!

Is this for real? - LisaCT

Well girls looks like the MTSO's read our posts, I got an email with this in it "please remember that you signed a Confidentiality agreement and Non-Disparagement agreement, legal action will be taken necessary. All I did was say I feel I was treated unfairly, nothing disparaging. I was feeling upset and needed support from other MT's in the same boat. Guess free speech does not apply here, this will be my last email on this subject. I may leave MT altogether, its just not worth it anymore. Time to go back to being a secretary I think.

LPH At Accentus
May 04, 2012

Hi.  I haven't been working for Accentus very long, but long enough that I should be meeting the 200 lph requirement for SR, but I'm still really struggling to do it.  I was wondering if anyone else had that experience or if maybe I am entering my time incorrectly or something.  I consistently average 165 lph for straight transcription so I feel like 200 is something I shouldn't be struggling so hard to meet, but I am.  I love Accentus so far so I don't wa ...

ACCENTUS/TRANSOLUTIONS
Mar 20, 2012

Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill.  They expect more and pay less.  I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet.  They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period.  It's better than what I had at Transcend.  The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
