Help! Can someone tell me why there should not be a comma after 'obese' in this sentence?

'A well-developed, obese white male'

Use commas to separate two or more adjectives if each modifies the noun alone.

Hint: If you can replace the comma between adjectives with "and," the comma is necessary.

In other words, I believe that there should be a comma after "obese" in that sentence.

You would not say obese and white male, so no comma.

You could say well-developed and obese white male, so a comma after well-developed is fine.

I read your question incorrectly and thought you were asking about the comma between well-developed and obese. I would not put a comma between obese and white male.

No comma, because the way I see it, you are describing the obese male, not just the male. The obese male is well developed, so he is a well-developed obese male. Take out the "white" and it makes more sense.
