HI

I'm trying to find out what chem. 18 is and how to properly transcribe it. It's part of a "PLAN" and it goes : "CBC chem 18 CD4 count and viral load"

If anybody could help... THANK YOU!

There is a Chem-7, Chem-12, and Chem-18. I do believe the Chem-18 includes all the components of the Chem-12 and also hepatitis screening and some others that I cannot recall. I tried to research it but cannot find all the components, but pretty sure it is transcribed as Chem-18 or Chem 18 (either is acceptable, unless otherwise stated in your account specifics).

Chem-6, Chem-7, Chem-12 and Chem-20, also called SMA-6, SMA-7, SMA-12 and SMA-20. Copied from Saunder's Laboratory Tests & Diagnostic Procedures, fourth edition.

I did not come across Chem-18 in my book, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
