beta-blocker/beta blocker - mtme
[ In Reply To ..]
Per Stedman's Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Words, it's beta-blocker. Per Saunder's Pharmaceutical Word Book, it's beta blocker.
It's beta blocker. My take...SM - Old Anon

Stedman's word books have been known to have errors in the past and to also have the same term expressed differently in its other word books. Case in point, as poster above states, the CV and Pulmonary Words has beta-blocker, while the Path & Lab Words has beta blocker. I would believe Saunder's Pharm Word Book before Stedman's for this reason and also because it is an extremely reliable and well-researched reference. Too bad they stopped publishing it in 2012 because of the rise in MTs using the internet for research instead. I bought the first edition in 1991 and every year until the last one in 2012.
