Nitis? - Part of the skin exam - mt

Posted: Oct 15, 2010

Sounds like it should be simple, but I've never heard it and can't find it.  In the physical exam he says - Cellulitis of the lower extremities.  No obvious _____ (s/l nitis).

Has anyone ever heard of this, and if so, what is it.  I'm not finding it in any searches.

Nidus - Raine59

Nidus of infection...it means a point where the infection began

nidus - i.e., the central point or locus of an infection - nm

nm

Thank you to both of you who answered - mt - sm

I don't know why I couldn't find that. The spelling is only a little off on what I was searching for. Since I didn't even know what it meant I couldn't go any further. Ma

Thank you to both for the post and explaining what it is. I will remember that.
