Express Scribe older versions - How to bypass the newest version?

I've read posts that suggest downloading older versions if the newest version causes trouble with files (which it is). Yesterday I tested with a really great company that I hope to work for. There were 4 test files on MTTest that I used Express Scribe 5.57 (newest version, free 14-day trial). One test made it through, but the other 3 did not. I did keep getting kicked out of the company's website after test dictation. Then I'd come back in and go through all the pages to get back to the dictation page. I'd transcribe the report, click submit and get next, and saw a check mark that said that test was submitted.

I don't know why the company website would kick me out after each test instead of letting me go on to the next report. I really think it has something to do with this newest version of Express Scribe. So I tried downloading older versions this evening, but even when I select a version such as 5.13 or 5.52, the version that installs is 5.57.

Any suggestions? All help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe someone with the older version could copy the - program & send it to you? n/m

I'll hope now that someone will read my post and maybe wouldn't mind copying the program for me. I only need it this week so I can re-take those tests and to take a few tests with other companies. But this particular company is the one I'm hoping for. :)

I can see a difference in the control panel that comes up. I do not like the newest version, prefer to keep the older one. Much simpler.

Express Scribe 4.05 - express scribe

I recently got a new computer and had a heck of a time finding a link that would actually let me download the old version I was used to. After much searching I finally had success getting version 4.05 with this link: http://express-scribe.software.informer.com/3.1/
It says 3.1 but it downloads version 4.05.

Looking for older ES version or at least a free, non-expiring version - gt5294

I am looking for an older version of Express Scribe as well. My problem is I have Windows 8 and every time I try to download the supposedly free, non Pro-trial version of ES, I either get an error message that says it doesn't work with any OS newer than Windows 7, or it installs the Pro trial version that is only good for three days. I'd like to find a free, non-expiring, version of ES, if there's one that exists. If anyone knows where I can find one, let me know. Thanks!

Mine got deleted after I had to get a complete reinstall. It's not on either of my flash drives, it's gone. I have voice files sent to me that I cannot play in Windows Media or Express Scribe. They will load in ES but show 00:00 duration. I thought possibly it was an encryption error as they possibly they are coming that way to be because they are secure but I sent to a friend and she can open them and play them. Hi, I bought ES Pro in 2012 and have not had any problems with playing dictation. I also have DSS to WAV to convert files. I converted a DS2 file to WAV but a message pops up that I'm using a "demo trial version for evaluation use only" and I now need to purchase an upgrade. Ugh!!! I have just started having trouble with Express Scribe. Regardless of whether I am using the foot pedal or the function keys, it is as if the program does not recognize what I am doing. Sometimes it takes multiple presses of the stop button or taps on the footpedal to get the dictation to stop. Sometimes when I press reverse on the footpedal I end up playing or fast forwarding. I have a pedal that I used with Express Scribe about 5 years ago. It says IN-BMG on the bottom. I worked independently for a local office using old school dictation with a tape player so packed up my pedal. Hi all, I am trying to test today and having trouble. When I open the MTSO's dictation file it automatically opens the Windows Medial Player Window. I tried dragging it into Express Scribe, but it will not load into it that way. I cannot see anywhere that I could save it and drag it or load it. I've used Express Scribe for years and years, however, lately it has been locking up on me and the only way I have found to get it unlocked is literally shutting my computer down and restarting. I am using V4.15. Has this happened to anyone else? It doesn't even shut it down through task manager.
