I try to take these tests and my foot pedal wont work with them. - PAMT

It is very difficult to keep going back over everything without a foot pedal. Is there some universal way to be able to make a foot pedal work with all these different tests or is there always a different set up for every single test. I dont want to be downloading lots of things to test with every single company.

My foot pedal has worked with virtually every program that I have tested with, with the exception of one and that was definitely having to use the manual controls. One thing to try is do a search for "file associations." Again, since I use 7, it is in Control Panel, All Control Panel Items, Default Programs, Set Associations. The look for files with .dss, .wav. ds etc and "associate" those with the player you want to use. I have Express Scribe, I have For The Record, and I have Bytescribe and I have no problems playing files. You also need to go into the individual programs and select the types of files that you want the particular player to play. HTH.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with my foot pedal? While I am working, sometimes when I lift up my foot to stop the dictation, it keeps playing like the pedal is stuck or something.
