Hi,

Anyone else recently quit this ridiculous farce of a company called Nuisance... I mean Nuance, and they never mentioned one word about having you ship back the foot pedal? Do they eventually send out a notice to ship it back or you won't get your last paycheck? Just curious... No big loss, my paycheck that is, as I was earning less than minimum wage. Got a pacycheck for 80 hours that was less than $200 a week. Seems they have it set up to purposely make people fail. I am a 30 year+ medical transcriptionist with tons of experience and they tried to make me feel humiliated and stupid. What a bunch of morons masquerading as professionals. I wasn't stupid enough to drop them like a hot potato as soon as I was on to their game

I am still waiting for them to contact me to send their stupid foot pedal. I too only made 200 a week, no work, too many MT's that take work away or not enough work. It sucked so bad. I am on unemployment but because I got paid so little for so long I am only getting 168 a week (before taxes) and due to the so called sequester, it will decrease to 16.8 percent when I reach my second tier. I cannot find a job anywhere (on line applications are not working). I was so depressed I wanted to die. Found free healthcare and they put me on meds for my depression so I can feel better about finding a job. I feel like I am going to be homeless in a few months.

No! Don't despair. I found another job right away on line and am starting next Monday. Have you tried Softscript, TTS, Patientfirst, Medtrans,Precyse Solutions, TransSolutions? I would personally avoid M-Modal (have seen nothing but negative posts) and any of the companies Nuance has recently acquired such as Transcend and not sure of the others. I am still on unemployment too and will be for probably the next 3-4 weeks until my pay is sufficient. I have good vibes about this new company -it is the complete opposite of Nuisance (as I fondly refer to them) in truth no fondness exists. I guess this foot pedal is mine to keep. I know they cost about $60 to order one. Maybe they are so big and busy getting greedier by the day they actually forget from time to time that they "gave" somebody something. Oh heaven forbid. Anyway, don't despair. Keep trying, like I did, and you will find good work. It is still out there but getting more and more rare because of companies like Nuance ripping everyone off. Hang in there....

Ladies, I quit Nuance a week ago after working for them for 2 years. I wondered the same thing about the foot pedal, but have heard not a word from HR since I left. Can I ask how you were able to collect unemployment after quitting? I was thinking of applying but didn't think I could collect because I quit.

I am taking a test for a company and have gotten as far as taking the transcription portion. I downloaded their file (pedalplugin-win) but whenever I lift my foot off play, the tape rewinds to beginning. I cannot rewind or FF and autoplay to 0 isn't registering. Hi!! We had our meeting at the hospital today with Nuance about being onboarded with them. We were told by HR that the hospital will let us keep the computers we have been working on, but that Nuance will be sending us the "special" Escription foot pedals. Is this true? I have never worked on Escription before. Does it require its own pedal? I am so heartsick about this transition but at this time, I have no other options. I am transcribing video interviews for a student's Doctoral dissertation. I have an Infinity foot pedal hooked up so that I can use it to play, fast-forward and rewind the video in Windows Media Player. I am transcribing the text in Microsoft Word. Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with my foot pedal? While I am working, sometimes when I lift up my foot to stop the dictation, it keeps playing like the pedal is stuck or something.
