Nuance Line Counts are accurate? - Do you trust Nuance?

Nuance gives me my line counts and they are loaded onto WebClock. I have no idea what reports they are counting. How do you know if the Nuance line counts are accurate? I worked for several other companies and not only did they give the line counts but a tally of the reports that were counted. So if I kept a log of daily reports I could compare to the total of reports that the company was counting. With Nuance there is no way to know what reports they are counting. I am on Dictaphone platform. Am I missing a way to track line counts I have done versus what Nuance says is my final line count? Is anyone else like me just accepting Nuance word for line counts?

Im on editscript and just press alt x and it tallys my line counts. Just do one report count the lines, then press alt x and make sure its accurate. Its always accurate for me. Im not sure about Dictaphone.

Editscript has the ability to track reports and line counts. Dictaphone does not to my knowledge.

No, I have no trust in anything about Nuance. Every piece of communication from them contains mountains of minutiae, and totally obscures critical information. I don't know what they're doing, and that is by their design IMO.

Dazed and confused by Nuance communication - Is this on purpose?

Honestly I don't know what half the abbreviations mean, don't know how they come up with scores for Fiesa if you miss a word that makes no difference to the body of the report as opposed to critical mistake. The memos that came out about Windows XP was just a lot of words that make no sense. I think Nuance keeps MTs confused on purpose. I still am waiting to understand the changes in Fiesa. (Who got paid to think up a name like Fiesa for a QA program?) The place is a joke but unfortunately the joke is on MTs.

I can look there at any time during my shift and see what the line counts are for each report (by job number), and see how I did for the day. I did come to Nuance when Transcend was taken over, so maybe it just carried over from that, but I really think any Nuance MLS would have access to it. Might want to check it out. It's https://mls.trcr.com/ (User name is first initial of first name and whole last name (no space), password is same one as when signing on to work.

Ichart? I work Dictaphone.nuance took away ability to see line counts in there...have to go to ichart...another website.another password etc, but I have not been able to get into it for a while.

Ichart does not break down the number of reports it is counting. It just gives total line counts. So if you are on Dictaphone platform there is no way of knowing if Nuance is counting all of your reports.

What platform are you on? I know of line counting on a few of them. - nm

If it is Word-based, go into the options and change spell check to also check grammar. You can tweak the grammar so it doesn't stop at too much.

When you're done, it will give you a character count in a box. Jot it down and calculate the line count from there. I believe it is without spaces. You can also click Review and under that is Word Count. That will give you both with and without spaces. Calculate without spaces from that. Good luck.

BTW: Mine are always correct or at least close enough.

iChart for daily total, lines never match word. - Line counts

I use iChart to see how much I did at the end of the day, but there's no way to know line by line.

If you look at the Word line count (tools, word count) and then divide the total with spaces by 56, you get the lines, but they never match what they use. I'm not sure if we get paid for the headers, etc.

Then in ExEditor, you can go back and look at the statistics of a specific job (look up an old job just like you would for previous notes by the same doctor/patient) but put in the job#. Then click the file and click statistics. It will give you a breakdown of the lines, etc, but EVEN THAT DOESN'T MATCH!!!

SO, to answer the original question, do I trust them? NO!

I am a Nuance newbie since the end of last year. When I add my lines I have done from my accounts for one week, 1/3-1/9, I have 6868 but on the timesheet I see my total lines are 4397. I'm glad to see I'm finally in the .08 bracket, but I don't understand the line discrepancy at all! I have added my lines up in the past and it has matched the timesheet lines. As I was working today I thought about speech versus transcription, and it occurred to me that I was transcribing a good deal in each speech report I "edited." Why is transcription done for a full report paid any differently than transcription done in a speech report? When I was Encompass, we used MT Monitor for EditScript, which did a fairly good job. I never much paid attention to the Alt + x Metrics because of using MT Monitor pretty exlusively. Now, since MT Monitor is soon to be nixed, apparently, it has stopped counting lines (just characters, but I can divide those by 65) and is missing whole reports over periods of time for me. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what OSI cuts out of their line counts? Seeing as they use a remote website for line counts, it is pretty obvious they cut corners with what MTs get paid on. I know this has been discussed before, but what is up with these line counts? I used to have no problem doing 200+ lph. Now, I work at the same pace on an account with less ESL speakers and I struggle to get my required 150 lph. According to the Escript, I'm doing an average of 300 lph on VR but usually at the end of 8 hours, I don't top 1100 liines most days. On Dictaphone's ExSpeech, i used to consistently do 1800-2400 a day on a combination. I have noticed with EScript that 1 day a week, my lines will hit 1200-1300, and I even hit 1500 one day, yet the lph were still 300. It doesn't make sense. No, I do not take breaks. Hi - I have a question regarding counting templates. I have a new doc who wants me to only count what he dictates, and not the templated review of systems, past medical history, social history, etc. which is all unchanged (unless he says to change it). Do you cut and paste your work into a "count" file to get the total, or do you tell the doctor that it has to be included in the count.
