Anyone out there finding that their lines are dropping for no apparent reason? Have been struggling for 2 weeks to get minimum 150 lph, doing nothing different than I've ever done, same amount of work, same clients, same hours but lines suck. What are the chances they are messing with our bean counter??

I have been thinking the same thing! I use to be 200-250...now I'm at like 160-170. Don't know that I have changed anything. I do know this: I have given up. The whole point of being paid by the line was to see how fast you could go, how much money you could make. But that's history. I used to get frustrated by the crap jobs and the new double-upload system and clicking off every logical heading it finds so the job will upload...but I notice now I've totally given up. Upload it 3 times?? Whatever. Hit Ctl-U again, and again, and again. Will it pass yet? Don't even try to go fast anymore. Don't even care anymore. Don't even get angry. I'll take my 160 lines. Obviously something has broken. But I'm in school, so there is hope.. (My lines dropped before I ever hit this board, so that is not it. This is just a nice place to talk to someone else!)

Last year when I worked for this scum company, I experienced the same thing. It would seem, I would be just going along fine and then it would drop for a while and then I would get back on track. I could never quite figure it out and then I really took some time to monitor what I did and I realized the b---tards were robbing me blind in one form or another. I quit, right then and there and found another job. There is no way you can prove this and believe me they have all their bases covered, so either you deal with it or get out. I opted for the latter.

I was so stressed working for M*M it was unbearable and the minute I quit, I felt like a new person. I finally had enough of them trying to define me in such degrading ways, I felt like something under a shoe!

I have had the same thoughts!! I start out doing great and mid day to the end of my day, it's pathetic and I'm working, working, working!!! There's no other reason, someone is messing w/us.

how do you know they were? I hate this place as much and more than most people..but when I spot check with the word character counter, mmodal is usually a tad bit higher in count. Now their assinine ADT entering and CC entering and uploading is a whole other story..Actually today, I am keeping track of everything I type and never get paid for..just to make myself more angry I guess..

I feel they just readjust the calibration from time to time, but again that is just my opinion. I don't feel it can be proved with that assumption, but obviously something is going on, as others have posted the same thing as well. After a while you sort of get an idea of how much you are doing and when it doesn't work out that way you begin to wonder, but probably don't do anything about it. I just felt I would monitor it and see what came out and I definitely felt my lines were being messed with, that is why I quit. I knew if was something I could not prove, and I knew it would eventually bug me to no end, and again, I was just looking to get away from M*M, I hated it so much and that was the infamous straw!

I'm not happy anyone is fighting for lines but am glad I'm not just imagining this. Am really worried the next step will be getting CA or PM if I can't get them up. I've never had this much trouble hitting lines before. Off days when nothing goes smoothly but never where my weekly lines are below the absolute minimum we are required to do

You are definitely not alone, and I'm sure there are more that feel as we do, they just won't say....

I was switched to this pod mos. ago and on my old account, where I was very happy by the way, I was doing very good. Somehow, I think this is why I got switched to this new pod. They were having to pay me too much, so found a way to slow me down....

I was lied to and told my old account went overseas,,now I see all these emails to correct mistakes on the account..it was a brutal account but I had it figured out and making money,,bam gone. So over this place

I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what OSI cuts out of their line counts? Seeing as they use a remote website for line counts, it is pretty obvious they cut corners with what MTs get paid on. I was just wondering WHAT are the cutting? Do they only pay 1 space? Do they not pay if you copy and paste? Do they only pay on a % per page - meaning if you have little on 1 page you aren't going to get any credit for those lines, etc? Just curio ...

I know this has been discussed before, but what is up with these line counts? I used to have no problem doing 200+ lph. Now, I work at the same pace on an account with less ESL speakers and I struggle to get my required 150 lph. According to the Escript, I'm doing an average of 300 lph on VR but usually at the end of 8 hours, I don't top 1100 liines most days. On Dictaphone's ExSpeech, i used to consistently do 1800-2400 a day on a combination. I have noticed with EScript that 1 day a week, my lines will hit 1200-1300, and I even hit 1500 one day, yet the lph were still 300. It doesn't make sense. No, I do not take breaks. I kind of feel dumb even asking this question but how does one get these 300 lph counts I've read about on here? I have 12 years plus years experience and have only worked in 2 different hospitals. We never had expanders so I don't really know much about them. I average about 180 lph but am realizing now working for an MTSO that I am going to have to increase my line counts. Thanks! ...

Hi - I have a question regarding counting templates. I have a new doc who wants me to only count what he dictates, and not the templated review of systems, past medical history, social history, etc. which is all unchanged (unless he says to change it). Do you cut and paste your work into a "count" file to get the total, or do you tell the doctor that it has to be included in the count. And what about the times he does make changes to the "templated items". I welcome any suggestions. ...

extreme trouble being consistent in their line counts? Some days I struggle to get half my lines and some days I can double them. I am just curious as to what line count standards are out there. What are your line count requirements for the day and how much do you use your QA for things like missing encounters, unable to ID patients, incorrect work types? Is anyone else suspicious about how they are calculating our line counts? I have been siltting here VERY diligently and typing like crazy these last few days and my counts seem to be going DOWN!!! I have been an MT for over 10 years doing hospital work. I have never been able to do much over 200 lines an hour straight typing except for the rare occasions I get several eye surgeries in a row that are canned. Usually I fall below this. My account is not difficult, but I do have a couple of different hospitals and of course many dictators.
