Is anyone actively looking for MT work - to escape from Nuance?

Posted: Jun 04, 2014

Anything out there?  I don't have to make a lot of money like the olden days but I would love to work for an all American company who appreciates MTs skills and is not demeaning like Nuance is.  Fiesa QA and audits among other things have sent me from thinking Nuance is OK to Nuance is UGLY and UNDERHANDED.

There are no jobs available where I live. If I can't find something on line I guess I'll go further down the financial drain.

I left Transcend after the Nuance take-over when everything started going to pot. I now work for Commandhealth/TransformMT. They are an all-domestic company, they do not offshore anything. No FIESA or whatever that was, paid for any meetings, but we never have any, completely different mindset. I know we are hiring if you are interested, just because my boss just put out a shout-out for anyone we might want to refer because we took on new accounts...

Just applied for a position. - Thanks.

When asked who referred me I put "justme" on MTStars. If there is a bonus involved if I get hired tell your boss you are also known as "justme" on MTStars.

good luck! - justme

Great to know - will they hire someone for 30 hours a week? How rigid are they with schedules?

way flexible - justme

Depending on their needs, they hire full time and part time. However, even if you are full time, as long as you make the lines you need, you don't have to work full time hours. Meaning, if you are able to get your work done in 3 or 4 or 5 hours, so long as you meet requirements for status, it's all cool. I am full time and get benefits, but work about 30 hours a week. We don't have schedules per se. We commit to days that we will work, like I am Monday through Friday. I can work on the weekends if I like but I don't have to. On the days I commit to work, I can work any hours I like, so long as I log in and get some work done. If I can only work 2 hours one day, but then work 10 hours the next, that's fine with them, so long as I work some on my committed days and get my lines in.

I've Been Actively Working With 5 Recruiters
Feb 14, 2013

For awhile now and have applied for tons of jobs outside the MT industry.  I haven't had a lot of luck until all of a sudden it's like an explosion of jobs just this week. I started tutoring elementary school kids in reading at 25.00 to 30.00 an hour.  I got my first student in 9 days for 3 days a week, and now I'm start several more - so working 10 hours per week and making 250-300. Sunday and Monday, I did a 2-day temp job at 11.50 an hour. Then, I got a call yester ...

New Nuance MLS Actively Seeking Other Employment
Feb 14, 2015

I'm new here, and I see that you really can't make any money at this "company. There's no way I'm staying. There are other MT companies out there where I can do the same work for better pay. I'm also actively seeking in something other than MT, which I'd rather have. I won't quit until I find another job, but when I do find it, I will drop Nuance like a hot potato and not look back. I only hope I have the grace to give them 2 weeks' notice. ...
