anybody else out there "being watched" sm - rockwell

Posted: Jun 01, 2012

I'm not talking about that productivity email.  I mean when  you are transcribing and then upload a job the little "K" icon on the bottom of the screen for the kapersky virus flashes and then flashes again when a job is downloaded.  It does it when I go to different websites to look up stuff for my work while I am working on a job.  There are times when it does not even do and then times when it does so it makes me believe they are watching me...mabye qa leader??  Its always going on around the time when I receive an audit.

havent noticed it, but thanks for the heads up - will pay closer attention now

Kaspersky - NY MT

I was told by technical support that when the Kaspersky (K) is flashing yellow in the right corner that it is running scan checks and backups. This happens often on the weekends when I am working and contacted support and this is what I was told.

Just out of curiosity, did the tech tell you if we could turn it off while we're working? I do not have kind words for it when it's running - sometimes it interrupts my time working anywhere from 2-5 minutes. I thought at one time that I did turn it off a while back, but when I opened it I couldn't do it. More time we lose because of their incompetency!

I don't think we are supposed to turn off - amt

the virus scanning process as it is required when working on MM accounts. You better have them check your computer out if it is slowing you down as it never slows me down on the 3 computers that I have for MM.
Slows me down too on my old and replaced - Its a RAM thing

On my old MM PC and the one that was replaced recently to be up to specs (even though it is still two-thirds short on RAM, but they told me it's good enough; I'm not on DQS7 yet, so we'll see). Whenever the scan is running it slows everything down and I just disable it. I've tried to find a way to schedule it when I'm on my break or something, but I can't find where I can.

Every once in awhile, since an IE update, if I leave the backlog, MQcentral, and google up, IE starts bogging down also. When bringing up task manager at those times, IE is sucking up a quarter of the RAM, so I end it and bring it up again and it's better.
Mine just seems to run at will --- I cant find - a pattern

Sometimes it is the blue balloon updating or whatever and sometimes it is the yellow cog-wheel-looking thing. I find it distracting as well, but doesn't seem to slow down the computer like McAfee did.

Kaspersky running - NY MT

It was a while ago that I spoke with the tech and since I received the new Dell computer from them I notice a slight hesitancy but not the slow down I had on the older computer. He said that day that it should not be turned off as it was running virus scanning. I had more problems when we had the McAfee running and it was very slow. I would suggest if you continue to have problems, give support a call or send a ticket.

It scans any information coming through your - connection for viruses

Whenever you download information, even just a webpage, it scans it for malware. That's all it is doing. I have kapersky unrelated to work and it does the same thing.

LOL - yeah the boogeyman's out to get you. Sheez! - NOMSG

Watched The Video-sm

Anyone watch the video?????? I did. I guess there is no set line rate anymore or line requirements? Or did I miss something? I calculated the examples using the old pay and you make more $ this way. That is if you send less than 10% to Q and get above 99%. Going below that I have no idea. ...

I Watched A Show Last Week About The Hatfields And McCoys
Jun 14, 2012

That's what this forum is starting to sound like.  Over here the "braggarts and liars" (I don't think anyone's lying, personally, but stay with me on this), that can be the Hatfields because they were better off than the McCoys, which here would be the "miserable people with no skills" (and for the record I think you are all skilled, I don't think you are miserable and you are probably underpaid.)     ...

"TRACKING CHANGES AND IDENTIFY ANOMALIES"..Okay, So I Just Watched The Video
Dec 04, 2014

Something like "Audits and controls are being put in place to track changes and identify anomalies in normal production hour history." They mentioned Webclock and the importance to have correct hours. Any of you acute care know what they are talking about. Do I remember someone saying something about downloading a program to track your time at the keyboard, etc, or was that on another forum? ...
