Too Many Interruptions - Sarah

Posted: Mar 05, 2015

They want each job to be perfect (as do I), but the interrupting E-mails are getting ridiculous.  Between the HDSM and the WFTL, they never stop bugging you for OT and of course you must respond to all their E-mails for OT.  It is hard to keep your concentration focused on the job at hand with all these useless interruptions.  ...and yes, I could just close out the e-mail folder, but I need it open to check all the millions of e-mails about all the individual hospitals.

I check mine at the beginning of shift - sm

sometimes in the middle and end, depends on my mood..If they want something changed about a hospital they better change it in the CP because the CP is the bible and what it says, goes...Make it all very black and white and stop sweating the small stuff, it will literally drive you insane..And I don't work OT either

I too check my e-mail at the beginning of my shift and that is it. I don't care it there are a 100 in there at the end. I agree, update your own rules and regs, I'm not. I do not work OT either. If I am approached on this, I tell them exactly what I do with my e-mails and if there is something I need to attend to, when I read those, I do, otherwise, it's, I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go and I need every minute to try and make some money. Again, no consideration for us at all.

If it is not in the CP, too bad. - that is my attitude

Unless it is a brand new account. Their client wants and don't wants only get paid attention to 1 day. If they can't put in the CP, too bad. I know changing CP process is convoluted and ridiculous, but too bad, they should fix the system.

I was just curious as to how you handle interruptions while you are working.  My friends and family cannot understand that I work on production.  For example, just today, since I started my shift, I have had 9 phone calls and texts and then my mother-in-law just dropped by to visit for a while.  I have tried to not be rude but I don't know what else to do.  I just yelled at my husband because he called and when I answered, he said "What are you doing?"  LOL (Th ...

Difficulty Working With Too Many Interruptions...

My mother will know I am working, will walk in my office and see me working and come in and ask me something.  She comes over periodically to check on my 12-year-old son after he has come home from school to see if he would like her to fix him something to eat, etc.  She lives next door.  Anyways, my mother is the best mother in the world, would do anything for me or my husband or son.  It is just she isn't married anymore and gets bored.  When she comes in my offic ...
