Spam filtering - pedal pusher

Is anyone else less than overwhelmed at the IT group's lack of competence in updating the spam filters? I'm getting pages and pages of REALLY offensive stuff and having to sift through pages of crap just to see if there is a single e-mail from anyone who really matters. (Not that the crap we get from HQ isn't offensive in its own way, but y'know what I mean...)

C'mon guys, updating a spam filter is not exactly rocket science!!!

Have you given your MQ address out to any organization like AHDI or similar? I ask because I have not received one spam email in MQ mail ever. Just trying to figure out how your email was compromised.

Never gotten anything but MedQuist-related stuff. Didn't even know it COULD receive anything else.

I never use my MQ e-mail for ANYTHING except reading the updates my CCM sends out and occasionally responding to them. None of my other e-mail accounts (which I do give out) have ever gotten anything like this stuff. It's really, really offensive stuff.

Watch where you leave your name, phone number, and/or e-mail unless you don't mind getting spam e-mail (mostly) and unwelcome phone calls. I don't think you can get them to stop unless you want to get a reply with more pressure to enroll. In the future I will be very careful about putting my e-mail or phone number on anything. Recently I started getting emails from Catherine Miller, advertising jobs and/or MT courses. I did at one time subscribe to her services, about 4 or 5 years ago, but cancelled because they were pretty much useless, and I can find work on my own. It isn't easy to get off some of the spam and phone call lists when you click for more information about some of these courses.
