You don't have to make it up and yes we are paid for being down this whole time.
Downtime Policy - CT

You'll have to go to the old MM intranet website because I can't find the policy on the new one, or anything else for that matter, but under HR policies is a downtime policy. We get paid, they have to deal with that. I told mine yesterday I don't have time to make up for the system being down and I want the downtime pay.
My TSM told us to not make up for NSA outside of our shift unless we touch base with her first to make sure all shifts have access to work.
I know work is slim around the clock, but hoping this will even things out a bit. Wondering how she is going to make sure some people aren't still booking in lines off their shift.
Have to hope it helps. ...
Is anyone else in the same boat as me, I have been without power now for a full total of 6 days. 4 straight days, then off and on. Then Christmas Day and day after Christmas. How to make this up I don't know.... Impossible. Anyway I do the best I can and keep on plugging even in the face of adversity. I had bad dreams last night I was constantly running from the mafia hit bosses who had my name and my family on a hit list. Not a pleasant d ...
Suddenly now I have to sign in every time all day long on My Yahoo, even though the box is checked to keep me signed in for two weeks. Anyone know how to fix this? It's a PIA to keep signing in over & over. No reply from Yahoo when I wrote them (surprise, suprise!) ...
may have to switch to full time from part time, even though I dread it. hard enough to get my lines on part time. anyhow, need more money. i know we can only make the switch once a year but can't remember what month we can do this. also, if I switch to full time now can I still get in on the health insurance or do I have to wait until next year at enrollment time again? thanks for any help. ...
or did some one say we will be compensated for this? Just wondering because it is past time for me to get off and I am so tired, not sure I can work much longer. ...
Fortunately I haven't been running out BUT I was denied (once again) Christmas and New Years off. Not too concerned about New Years but I host Christmas and will have to work till 2:00 in the afternoon. My family will open gifts at the crack of dawn so I can start my shift and my hubby will bring my breakfast into the office for me to eat while (or if) I'm working. Last year I had probably less than 5 jobs in 2 hours and called it a day and that was okay....last year. ...
After being switched every couple of months to new accounts I am now having trouble making any lines. Lately I have been wondering if they have changed how they count lines. Also I am on an account that is done in the UK which means 100 percent ESLs and zero normals. Anybody else struggle? ...
If anyone knows of a hospital, clinic, or large practice offering remote full-time or part-time employee positions, I would really appreciate an email. I have the sudden need to help support a family member long term (in addition to myself) and really need to find a long-term remote employee position for the stability. Yes, I watch all the various employment sites and even individual hospital sites, but I was hoping that maybe, just maybe someone who works for a hospital that does th ...
Has anyone working for an MTSO been downgraded from full-time status to part-time status based on not enough hours worked to be considered full time, yet making well above the minimum amount of earnings required for full-time status?

It has been inconvenient, and maybe a bit confusing at times, to check my time card hours for my shift as, because of my time zone, part of my hours show up on the next day because I work 2nd shift. I wonder if I will get overtime for yesterday, even though I did not work overtime. I had to start work several hours early because of maintenance, so all hours were completed before the hour my hours start showing up on the next day. Fine. But the last couple hours of yesterday show up as today, ...
Ever since they have changed Schedule Source and now it has a display called today's activity with "actuals" hours, this has not matched the hours shown with the time clock punches and is less than the hours according to the clock punch. The difference adds up to a significant amount over time. I am really suspicious about being jypped paywise. ...
I worked for MQ full time and then went to part time last year, before finally quitting altogether because of health problems. I seem to remember an obscure policy that if you were full time and then went to part time, you could not go back to full time for a period of at least 1 year. Can anyone verify that for me? IF, and this is a big IF, I were to go back to work for MQ, I would need to be full time. ...
First there was line count....then there was ASR.....now there is MME.
Does anyone know how much less they are making doing MME? I just started and I am not making any money.
Who is doing the work on the accounts that we used to do? ...
I have just been switched to another BoB because we lost several accounts in the BoB I was in....now I have to learn all new accounts....at 3 cpl I will end up owing MQ money!! ...
Hey everyone. I am just curious as to what everyone makes these days (if you are being paid by the line) and how long should you stay at that rate before you ask for more/raise your price?
I've been at 12 cents per line for the past 3.5 years and I don't know how much more I should ask for. I don't want to ask for too much, yet I don't want to sell myself short. I am just thankful to even have my job so I don't want to rub anyone the wro ...
Just have to ask, how much ASR do you do? Are you able to fly through at high speed without going back to proof and still getting strong audit? Do you have several dictators with several formats or a handful with all the same format?
Your credentials are impressive but there are only so many things you can do to make that kind of money anymore and it is painful for me to know you are able to make that much at the same company, doing the same kind of work.
Also, how much time would you say you ...
Just found out through the grapevine that someone was hired at my company at a higher cpl that I was offered. I have been there since June and was offered a low rate compared to most MTSO companies. But it did get me off the midnight shift at a different company, which I would have stayed with had I been given the opportunity to change shifts. She was offered 2 cpl more for straight and 1.75 cpl more for ASR. I also have more years in the profession than she does, a ...
How in the heck are you supposed to make any money doing SR? Is it possible? I make good money as a transcriptionist and have avoided SR up to now. Now my company is transitioning over and I'm contemplating running for the door. I don't see how it's possible to make any money when you get paid half the cpl that you would make for transcribing. I generally transcribe as fast as the dictator talks (unless they're really crappy, of course). You stil ...
Does anyone know personally of any MT who makes $50,000 a year or more? A college recruiter called me at home one night and asked what I did for a living and when I told her I did not make that kind of money she said "I was told most MTs make around $50,000 a year. Only in my dreams. LOL. ...
To those making 50+ K a year:
I'm glad to know that in this industry it is still possible to make a decent living! I LOVE transcription! I've been an at-home MT for about 5 years and see the potential, but seem to get easily distracted being at home and get restless and can't sit still.
What is it that you are doing to stay focused on your work? Is it really about working weekends and second, third shifts? Please share! I'm stuck at around 25K, when ...
Honest to Pete, this woman has no clue about pronunciation. A couple of reports ago she's reading a radiology report and says very clearly "primitive destruction" and then goes on to spell it "permeative." Those are two very different words and to me have very different pronunciations.
Now she's on a patient who has had chemoradiation therapy, "altima" and zometa. Umm, you mean Alimta?
It's going to be a long afternoon. ...
