Implementation of 6.1 - whatever

Now that they have implemented the wonderful 6.1 and its going to be so great, I smell another pay cut coming.

My computer is sooo slow, automatic pay cut. - anon

I have turned it off, defragmented it, everything I can think of to try and wake it up. It just stopped once and then caught up about 1/2 a line later. I don't mind most of the 6.1 except for the doctor look-up which is a disaster, but this slowness and the Autosave are driving me crazy.

Just turn everything off except spell check as you go (which is great) and the skip marker..

Could that be what is dragging it down for real? - anon

I unchecked everything just like I did before and it really is not that much different than before the upgrade..when you delete more then 5 words in the body the skip marker comes up, but I just get rid of it..Only use it at beginning and end of the report...Try it and see if you notice a difference...

Wow, I bet you're one of the ones who are always complaining about how bad ASR is, huh? Next time you wanna know why it sucks, look in the mirror.

How about I look at my line count? Down 200 so far today - from where it used to be.

Wow..sort of hostile. I don't complain about ASR, I like it..I would rather do all ASR work..I'm losing money too, that is why I went to part time after 15 years and found a way better full time position. I'm sorry you are so unhappy...

I know as of October 1st, facilities will be using ICD-10, and I have also noticed schools are still training in ICD-9, so my question is will both still be used in coding? And, if so, for how long? Isn't it supposed to be strictly ICD-10 after October 1? How much harder is ICD-10 than ICD-9? Thank you for your time in responding. ...

I desperately need info if anyone can please help. I am pretty sure I will be losing my job of 10 years in a couple of months. The hospitals I have been working for are going to what is called EPIC implementation. Also, the physicians will be transitioning to voice recognition software. I have been searching, and as far as I can understand, the EPIC is in regards to a paperless medical record. I am wondering if the voice recognition is part of that agenda. Am a current Mt looking to get into coding, specifically looking at Andrews. I am not familiar with coding at all, so this may be a dumb question to those familiar with it - but here goes! Would it make more sense to wait until the implementation of ICD-10 to invest in the courses or is this a mute point pretty much? In other words, would it be easier to "transition" from 9 to 10 or start fresh with 10? Hope this makes sense and TIA for any input. ...

This article was from July, I just found it. It may have been addressed back then, and if so I missed it.
