I think the enhanced pay - is the Boost initiative

Posted: May 09, 2012

According to Vern in the town hall meeting, an MT went from 169 lph to 295 lph after being mentored.

He said some MTs had experienced a 72% (I may be a little off) increase in pay after being mentored.

So there ya go, be mentored and earn more.

It's magic!

Enchanted Pay - Sigh

I know a few magic words! None of them appropriate for this board, though.

How do you get mentored? I would be very interested in this...

Just wait - your turn is coming

it isn't optional. You'll get your email soon. If you really want to hurry up the process, let your CCM know.

they will squeeze every last bit of production from the MTs - before giving a raise

Dont you see- its our fault that we don't produce enough. If they can make us work harder then you are right it is magic, they don't have to give raises and we make more money. Oh I can do 295 lph all right but not for every hour of every shift and that is what they expect. I would like Vern to do my job for one hour and see how he does.

Mentoring had nothing to do with my increase in production. - dnr

It was getting a new computer (MM)! And then fixing it myself to run right. And support was not interested at all in working with me to get the computer working right so I could increase my production. Grrr

My mentor watched me work and saw how much time I was waiting on the computer (an MQ computer) and saw that was the source of my "inactive" time.

well then in a way the mentor did help you - and

that kind of thing is what they are also supposed to look for according to the email, but I have to repopulate all the physician fields on the ADT because they won't upload properly to the client otherwise, and it takes a long time, and I don't get paid for it, and my mentor didn't see that as a problem at all.

Unfortunately, my increase in production is still below minimum wage. - dnr

I need to increase my count by 40% to equal minimum wage and increase by 150% to make anything remotely resembling minimum wage.

If I could leave, I would, but a health issue is keeping me back and I can't afford the trips to the doctor with no insurance and can't afford any insurance. Yes, I can go to a low-income clinic, but I still have to pay for the CT scan and/or MRI which I can't afford.

Yes, my life does suck right now. At least I have friends.
Yeah between the stupidest ASR available and - having to

do letters and countless referring physicians and carbon copies (none of whom are in the data base, of course), I don't think a mentor is what I need. I need to be paid for EVERY keystroke. Wouldn't that be amazing? Plus if they EVER got ASR to do a line or two that didn't need 15 corrections, I might be able to pick up the pace.
Amen. - dnr

Yes, I hate all the stuff I have to do for free that I should get paid for. And that includes Remedy training, reading QA and email.
That is referred to as - wage theft

We should not let them get away with it.

I certainly would like to shadow one the people who - dnr

such a great improvement to see how it was done. The only way I can see accomplishing that myself is to cut corners and leave blanks rather than researching anything.

Although, if the doctors would just input the MR#/FIN# correctly so I didn't have to hunt ADT, that would certainly give me a little boost.

My take on the Boost program - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
I did not listen to the Townhall today, I was too mad after reading the latest Vmail, knew I would get even more angry. So let me understand this correctly, our enhanced pay is this Boost thing? Nothing else? No improved ASR? No way to make lookups easier and less time consuming? Nothing? They have just come to the conclusion that we are too slow/lazy and need a shadow to keep us in our seats? Yes I can produce more if I know someone is watching me, making sure I stay at my seat for the entire hour, anyone can. But for the long haul, that's not going to work. This whole fiasco is making me even less motivated, Vern. It's my fault, I'm to blame? It is the nature of our work, we are not robots, we're human beings who need breaks in order to function, focus and concentrate. I'd love to see Vern sit here and type for 4 hours straight or even 2 hours without a break. I'm so fed up, and I'm sure I'm not alone. Rant over, thanks for reading.

i don't think so - sm

that was just somebody's speculation on here. They are working on a compensation package. It may or may not be a good thing but they are working on one, and they have a person working on the SR. I wish her luck with that too.

No, that was just my speculation - OP

I think the Boost initiative is supposed to help increase production and therefore more pay. That was just my take on the enhanced pay. Didn't hear that in the meeting, just kind of reading between the lines. When I heard him say an MT had increased from 169 to 295 lph after being mentored, I just thought that's probably going to be touted as enhanced pay. Didn't mean to start a panic here. Sorry!

yeah and we used to get emails about MTs doing 695 lph too - all to make us feel incompetent

[ In Reply To ..]
Back with the old CEO we used to get the slam emails referring to MTs who averaged impossible numbers (unless you had gravy accounts with huge line count standards to pull in) and thus inferring that those of us who didn't hit those numbers were somehow slacking or lazy or whatever.

This company whatever the name is famous for pitting MTs against each other and quoting skewed statistics to make each MT feel lazy. Why do you think they started those emails again regarding productivity statistics and this time included the average of all MTs? Now it is in writing how bad you do compared to the rest of the MTs. Anyone above average? Or are you mostly below, meaning it is YOUR fault that your production doesn't match up to the rest of your fellow MTs. They can Boost the corporate idiots who came up with the idea, take their salary and start paying the MTs a decent living wage.
