Has that happened to anyone else? Even though I actually really do want to work, when work does show up I'm like "crap...I can't wait until we run out again...."

You just kind of get used to not working. Not working is great if you can afford it.

Some days I feel like, come on NJA, come on... just 10 more minutes...! yeah, just 5 more minutesâ�¦! just... ohhhh crap, look a job's coming in. Damn.

I despise this work and find it - extremely boring...

not to mention hard to get too excited about min wage (barely). On the bright side, this fall, putting it all in the rear view and never looking back!

It is hard to get into a motivated mindset and gladly put - your all into the job when (sm)

...laboring under this dreadful "at-will" employee status, and can get let go at any given moment, for no fault of your own. The at-will thing (if I allow myself to think about it too much) makes me feel insecure and anxious, which is not very conducive to max happiness in my job. If I can forget about that stuff, I actually really like working for MModal (some days more than others depending on dictators) but it is a shame that 1) the pay for SR is so low, and that 2) we can be laid off at any time. :(

When I was getting paid by the hour and making incentive every pay check, I worked my fingers to the bone because I know the higher my line count, the more my incentive and I'm talking $500 to $600 in incentive EVERY PAY CHECK on top of my hourly wage of $15 per hour.

When we got outsourced, my ambition and speed gradually dwindled to the point I had to force myself to get motivated just to maintain enough to pay the bills (which hardly cut it). I finally got blessed with a job outside of MT and was able to move on. I still don't make the money I once did as a hospital MT, but it's a pretty decent job and the pay is reasonable and I don't mind so much having to work outside the home anymore.

I thought I was the only one who was starting - to look forward to running out of work!

After 20 years at MM and 5 years transcribing before that, I'm officially retired. MM was a great job when I started. It allowed me to stay home with my kids when they were small and I even made a good wage but lately...this company has gone to the dogs and I am so happy to be done with it. There was a time when we were professionals not just typists working for peanuts. I will miss transcribing but I will not miss MM. Au revoir MM. ...

Hey Everyone! Yesterday was my last day with the Evil Q. I've had a non-MT job for a couple of months and I was finally assured it will be permanent and I gave notice. I've been with the Q for 10 years. Like everyone, I saw my paychecks dwindling and could no longer make a living, nor could I afford more of MedQuist's "experiments" at my expense. I saw the writing on the wall years ago and did nothing because of a fear of leaving and thinking things ...

So, I'm not really asking for a show of hands here, but have you been "moved" in the last 2, 3 weeks or so to a hospital account in the upper northwest part of the country that is rather a booger-bear to learn? It is INTENTIONAL, you will be FIESA'd to death if you are not already. (You were likely told that they need you there because it is a difficult account to keep staffed, at least that is what they told the last person). Just warning you. Be on the lookout for that one plan ...

Do they really think we believe that all the TSMs "forgot" to relay us that important bit of information at the same time? Don't they know that we're intelligent people who aren't so easily duped? Interesting that the 0.88 announcement comes out AFTER the teleconference meetings regarding the new plan!
