Continued from below: Those of us who have been here for a while - have taken a 40% paycut

Posted: Mar 26, 2012

so to those who haven't been here long or have been with other companies, it looks like we are whiners or slammers or glass half-emptiers or whatever the phrase o' the day is. And it's not just that "oh, well, it's industry wide, so working here is in line with everyone else." No, it's because MQ/M*Moral led the way with the paycuts & bonus cuts, differential cuts, every other little trick their attorneys came up with that the other nationals and MTSOs followed along and did the same. So, no, it wasn't the same everywhere until this company got their slimy hands into it and started a once great profession into the downhill slide into just another minimum wage sweatshop. Don't worry, as soon as we older ones starve out, the rest of you can say, "I'm just happy to have a job!!" And "At least my pay is in line with industry standards!" Have a happy day.

Amen - sista!

MTs at M*Modal. It was an across the board thing - INDUSTRY WIDE.

Read it again, I didn't say M-Modal - was the only one

I said M*Modal MQ was the one who started the downward spiral and everyone else followed. Geesh, read much?

Funny they seem to pay more then most - in the business these days.

Re-read it, especially the last few sentences. Clearly you are one of the people she's talking about.

Thanks, Just Sayin - I have never seen

so many obtuse people in my life! Totally missing the point. Clearly, they lack comprehensive reading skills...

It all depends - old and burned out

So much depends on one's CCM and accounts. I was reasonably content before the last transfer. Now I do 8 different accounts regularly and all bad. My last CCM allowed me to exchange days without much hassle; this one wants me to work Friday or Saturday night if I miss a week day for whatever reason. My last CCM interpreted my unpaid time off as 40 hours, this one said 5 days (20 hours) after working here for over 30 years and it took 3 months to get approval to go back to the 40 hours. Even if you are relatively happy with your situation, you must be able to see that this company's policies are reprehensible, especially charging the MT for sending work to QA particularly in light of the ESLs, bad audio, lousy ASR, etc.

Continued OT
Mar 19, 2015

Eat healthy and drink plenty of water - I can't because I have "mandatory" OT that doesn't allow me enough time to cook for my family so we have to get take out and I have to eat at my desk and if I drink too much water I'll have to use the restroom which will cut into my inactive time and add to the OT.  Go to bed early and get a good nights sleep - I can't because I have "mandatory" OT so I have to work late because of NJA and still have "mandatory" OT to do each day. ...

Medquist - Just Walk Away Continued

Whether you are "making it" at MQ (and for the life of me I don't know how), that really isn't the issue.  MQ is treating his MTs like slaves and for a pittance.  They degrade you, monitor you, have supervisors who are tyrants, unnecessary meetings, more hoops than you can throw a stick at and guess what, they are going to send everything over to India.  There are not enough qualified MTs any longer to support these huge companies; just look at Spheris.  The higher ...
