What do you wear on your feet? - starzzz

Posted: Jan 04, 2011

I find that if I wear shoes, I am inadvertantly pressing the rewind or FF bars on the foot pedal because the shoes are too wide. My feet get really sore pressing on the foot pedal with only socks on, though. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Slippers - I wear slipper socks

with the stucky things on the bottom. I love them. They are warm and my feet don't slip around when walking or working.

I hadn't thought of those. I'll have to (sm) - starzzz

give those a try. I was thinking about a ballet-type slipper for cushioning because pressing on the hard metal foot pedal is killing my feet with just socks on. I'll bet the nonslip strips would provide some cushioning. Thanks for the idea!

I got 2 pair of those for $2 at Wal-Mart and absolutely love them. Wear them all the time. Best investment ever!

I scored a pair of those while in the hospital! LOL - Hayseed

I never knew about those "stucky" socks (love your word!) until my husband landed his sorry self in the hospital and got a pair of those. I have since stolen them and they are the bomb! We have wood/linoleum all over the house (man I miss carpet) and the regular socks are borderline dangerous, but these things rock for the vertically challenged!

I have a friend who is a NUT about going to the Salvation Army/Goodwill every day on her lunch break, and she's always on the hunt for these. So far she's found me like 6 pairs and I love them all! I even have one with little dog/kitty paws grippers on the soles of the feet, have another set with cows on them, yet another with sparkly threads through them...

dearfoam slippers - orthogirl

[ In Reply To ..]
my son got them for me last Christmas and they are great. The first time I tried them on, I thought they were too tight, but after one or two days, the foam forms to your foot and they are the ones that have a rubber sole on them, so I can even walk outside on the sidewalk to my mailbox and they are enough. They definitely are supportive but not as much as a shoe. I have never worn shoes when transcribing as I need to feel the foot pedal and I am just not a shoe person. I would go barefoot or slippers everywhere if I could. Give them a try, you should be able to find them in Walmart or Sears of some type of department store like that. Good luck!

Ugg slippers - RubySoho

I LIVE in Ugg boots during fall and winter when I'm going outdoors (they're so warm and comfortable and last forever without sign of wear or tear), and indoors it's the Ugg slippers. My feet stay nice and warm and they're not so bulky as to interfere with using my footpedals.

My Reasons For Dragging My Feet On 6.1.

have nothing to do with difficulty, upload/download time, or any MT-related issues. The majority of you STILL DON'T GET IT.  6.1. is an enhancement for back-end editing. Back-end editing means more automatiion and need for fewer and fewer real live human MTs to do MQ work. So great, jump on the bandwagon to eliminate your jobs.  I'm relatively confident I'll be one of the last to be let go whether I upgrade to 6.1 now or a month from now or whenever. Ortho - Flat Feet - Alterdix?
Jul 15, 2010

I'm doing an ortho consult and the patient has a history of long-standing flat feet and he uses (Alterdix?) for that.  I'm thinking it has to be some kind of shoe or device.  Not a medication because he says he is not taking any medication.    Also, just a side note - should it be a "long-standing history of flat feet" or is it correct the way it is "history of long-standing flat feet".   Thanks, ...
