I have a Bose radio that I never use and would love to know how to do that. Not a techie here but with a little information probably could get hubby to hook it up. TIA

I have a cord that has a headphone jack on one end that plugs into my laptop headphone jack. The other end has 2 headphone type plug ins, one red and one white. Those get plugged into the back of the Bose in the red and white plugins in back of radio. I am sure if you call Radio Shack or any computer/office store and tell them you want to run your computer sound through your Bose, they could hook you up with the cord you need.

I'm plugged directly into computer - I have no desk speakers-nm

I have a Koss EQ50 3 band stereo equalizer plugged in between my computer and headphones. I can adjust bass, MID, and treble and it has improved the sound quality for me tremendously. The difference for me before and after purchasing this is like night and day. Can't begin to explain how this has improved the quality and sound of the dictation.

This sounds great and in price range. Looked for it on Internet & seems the only place to buy is at techno outlet. Ever heard of them? Where did you purchase yours? Thanks for the info.

Sorry, forgot to mention that no, I haven't heard of techno outlet, but I had never heard of nor ordered from X-treme geeks either. I would just do a google search and see if there are any reviews for them, good or bad.

Does anyone use speakers instead of headset when transcribing/editing? I have always used a headset (been in this field for about 20 years), and the more I work, the worse the ringing becomes in my ears. I believe it is directly related to the headset (which does not insert into my ears--got away from that one because it really made it worse). I try to keep the volume as low as I can. My MQ/MM speakers, which I plug in my head phones into, quit working. The techs called me and said they no longer send speakers with the computers. Anyone, within the last 2 years or so, get speakers send with their MQ/MM computer? ASR was doing better a little while back now it is way screwed up again...Which means they hired people that dont know what they are doing..They need to make it about a year or so on new hires before they go through the filter and screw it up..And you would think at the very least there would be a filter to keep misspelled words from printing out,,,Just my opinion ...

I just want to let everybody know there are other fields where we can put our skills to use. I responded to an ad asking for a transcriptionist and thinking it was medical I sent my resume of 20+ years MT and got hired . It turns out its a legal transcriptionist for workers comp lawyers. Right now I do 4 hours a day as they need me (as there is another transcriptionist there) and am making a lot more than medical transcriptionist. I have been considering going to Andrews to become an MT for and I have never done it because I get on these boards and get scared to death! I have worked in the Medical field for 13 years (as a clinical tech and surgery....included in that is some limited transcription and scribing). I now stay home with my kids. Do you think it is necessary to give 2 weeks notice if I am ALWAYS out of work. For example I should be done with my 8 hour shift in an hour and I am not even half way through the day due to being out of work on my primary and ALL of my back ups.
