I worked at a company who used to do that. You could either have your check snail-mailed to you or via PayPal. I chose the snail mail because you have to pay PayPal to do that for you. The amount depends on the amount of the check. It just didn't seem a fair way to get the money you worked so hard to earn. I did have some trouble with getting it through the mail...it took forever and some of the time I didn't get it at all. Then I would have to wait to get another check sent, "because the post office lost it" excuse given by owner.
Yes, I get paid that way - sm - XXX

I have a choice of paypal or being mailed a check. I prefer it sooner than later due to financial considerations, though paypal takes about 3% of it which stinks. But I do not want to wait a week or so for my check from day of payment so it is the price I pay for getting it sooner. I also split it between two bank accounts so this makes it easier for me to transfer the funds electronically or I can take out cash immediately thru my Paypal debit card if necessary (I think it is $2.50 a withdrawal for that). Electronic transfers are free though. If they start getting too fee happy I will just go back to being paid by check.
if you are an IC, can't you claim the fee on taxes? - makesyougohmm - NM

that for financial reasons you need your check but 3% fees are high especially in addition to paying all the taxes as an IC. I would avoid all fees. It's just a way for banks to make money. I'd wait for a check but that does take time, sometimes to long.
Does anyone here get paid through Paypal? If so, how does that work? Do you declare youself a merchant? How much do they charge for their services? ...
