CHDS exam - longtimeMT

I got my CMT originally in 1990 and was continuously certified through August of 2014 but let it lapse due to its "value" in the industry diminishing (no one EVER asked me for certification through the years). I know have the possibility of a great job but they require CMT status. To regain my CMT status will have to RETEST! Anyone taken the test lately .. and has anyone tested to regain their status. Any information welcome. I cannot imagine I would have problems with it with my experience, etc. but you never know right? Thank you.

about recertifying. You NOW have to take and pay for 2 exams no matter what to get recertified. I would question any company that requires it. I would love nothing more than to see them go out of business.

I took the exam. One thing I do remember is that each question on the exam relates to an objective on the blueprint that you can find on AHDI's website. Going over that blueprint may help you find any areas you need to review.

What company is this??? And why are they suddenly coming up with this NOW?

My thinking is that I would not go to this expense for a job that is only a possibility. I would also want to look closely at what company it is and why they are asking this. Considering the history of AHDI "certifications," and I had one, I would wonder if this is a scam.

If it were me, I would put that expense to better use learning something like coding. For what you will pay for those two exams and the cost of upkeep, you can afford even the Andrews down payment and a couple months of payments after that.

Coding gives you much better prospects in making a good salary. That's the choice I would make because it makes good common sense.

I don't think I am surprising anyone with the observation that CHDS or CMT credentials don't help you get a job. I have applied at several companies and I don't even get a courtesy of a response--even from companies that say they "care if you are certified." The bottom line for the companies is to pay the lowest you can and quality doesn't matter. No surprise here. ...
