pay difference for part-time - sbmt

I am just wondering if most companies pay less per line if you work part time. I have recently talked with my supervisor about possibly going part time (600 lines per day), and she told me if I chose to go part time, my pay per line would go down to 6 cpl from 7. I can't imagine making less per line than I already do. My skill level and quality will not decrease, so why would my pay?

When I went from full time to part time my pay stayed the same as it was when I was full time. I don't understand why they would change your line rate just because you are now part time. Do you have the employee handbook; if so, look up the rate of pay per line and see if they state a difference in pay rate between full time and part time or contact human resources. Good luck.

Yeah, I was told the same by a company also, just another way to - not pay someone what their worth

It doesn't make any sense to me either. I do the required line count for them in 4 hours anyway,so I just go to the required line count and get off. Even though I am only typing for 4 hours, I'm still getting their FT lines in, so there isn't much they can do about it.

Or is TL just saying that in hopes of discouraging PT? Maybe - others who work there could SM

verify if this is true. Surely, there is someone who has gone to PT in the MTSO. But I wouldnt doubt for a minute you are getting line to keep you FT. Maybe if you insist on PT, you will find that "an exception" has been made for you and you will stay at your current cpl. Which MTSO are we talking about, or which of many, are we talking about?

Or go ahead and switch. If pay cut true, surely they would - be glad to have you back as FT. nm

Does anyone care to share that if you are hired at optiscript part time will they let you change to full time easily? I know they are a small company and do not over hire so I do not know how easily this could be done. I'm considering dropping to part-time. I checked out the MQ Central for the specs and it indicates 24 hours/0.03 PTO per 48 hr pay period/1.37 hours for a max of 5 days/40 hours yearly. My CCM said if I happened to work 39 hours in a week, I'd get more PTO accumulated during that time. She said there are PT folks who get just as much PTO as the FT do.
