This job posting from MSLA says to send resume to above e-mail address. I do not see an e-mail anywhere in their post. Am I missing it? I see there link, but that's it.

They contacted me by email, but are not paying very much. There was a phone # and I called them. They're supposed to send me the sample file by email. We'll see how it goes.

I'm interested in knowing what this job is all about. It doesn't say whether it's full/part-time, pay, or anything on their post. It sounds like it's more than just transcription if the MT has to identify missing/conflicting information, etc.

Like I said she contacted me by email and I did call her on the phone and spoke to her and the pay is very low, $6.00 per report, some of them are 4 pages and some may be 10 pages. If that isn't bad enough, she sent me some samples of audio and the first doctor was very staticy and garbly, could not understand a word. The next doctor was a psychologist. These are reports for disability, Social Security and state forms, which I know already are very cheap, especially Social Security. I haven't heard back again from her and don't expect to.

$6.00 per report - what a total rip-off. You know how long it would take to do a 10-page report? Independent exam reports are full of info, solid paragraph after paragraph, page after page. That's ridiculous! Estimate a 2-page report is 100 lines, that's only .06 per 65-character line. My god, if you were to have a 10-page report at 50 lines per page...500 lines for $6.00 - that's only a little over .01 per 65-character line. Are they nuts???!!!!

Has anyone ever heard of this company? A little worried because when you ask about pay no one is sure when you get paid. When you talk to another person then you get the pay dates and the excuse is because the are a new recruiter...okay..They pay different than most places by paying you a flat fee per job and about 60% of the notes are templated out. Sometimes I'm not sure what to do when they say "post" ... something. I know if it is postauricular (for example), it is attached ... but how about post aneurysmal surgery? It does not seem like it would be attached. - Is it proper to leave it stand-alone or should I change it to status post ... or actually attach it? Thanks in advance!! ...

I have been trying to get another job being an MT that is either FT or is PT to supplement my already PT job. I have sent out way more resumes that I can count and only got one job offer. This job offer was for 5 to 6 cpl. I could have worked full time on this job, but I feel that an MT is worth more than what they were offering. My questions are am I missing something? Okay, I have had the suspicion that MQ programmed something when you bring up old reports when typing a discharge summary that the H&P doesn't show up. Today, the dictator doing the DS plainly stated that she was reading right off the H&P. I went to check in the old reports to maybe get some quick lines, but it wasn't there...as usual. When you suspect that a word may have been omitted from dictation, do you make a note for this to be reviewed or do you think that is overstepping your bounds and basically saying the doctor made a mistake? For instance, this ESL doc said "Bacterial endocarditis is not particularly recommended, but the patient has had Augmentin or amoxicillin and may be given a single dose.." I suspect he forgot to say bacterial endocarditis "prophylaxis" is not particularly recommended...etc. ...

I am a remote transcriptionist for a large hospital. We recently went live with VR Nuance/escript. Ever since go live I have had the continuing problem of typing a voice file and will lose a keystroke, have to backspace, sometimes hit the same key 3-5 times before it will show up on the screen, sometimes taking me an hour to 2 finger type a report. MQ uses Instant Text for their line counts. I knew i had it for word expanders but prefer to use my own WEs. Well, they have a line counter too but I haven't had the time to check it out. So, today, I took about 5 documents, copied and pasted them into Word. MQ requires 65 CPL, Word requires 73, so I should have come out behind in Word each time.
