The Transcription Doctors pay schedule - Helluva MT

I started working for them over 6 weeks ago and have NOT gotten paid YET.  I know there has been discussion that that happens but we're going on almost 2 months now and nothing.  I've emailed and gotten no response, yet still get the emails about "A... backlog still critical!" and so on.  I'm only working for them until I find something else MUCH MUCH better (and that pays!!).  Unfortunately, I did not read anything about their questionable payment methods before I accepted the job from them, otherwise I would have not even bothered applying...but desperate times called for desperate measures!

Sure wish my bill collectors would be happy waiting almost 2 months to get paid.  Alas, tis but a fantasy.  :-(

I think you need to demand some answers. Please do NOT continue to work for this company if they do not have the decency to respond to your questions about pay. Do you have a number to call them? If not, the next time they send you an e-mail about the backlog being critical you should respond that your house and food situation are critical. I know you need to find something else, but please do NOT give them anymore of your time producing anything for them, and then I would contact an attorney, you can check through your state's attorney general office as to what your rights are and what to do about it.

Houck pays the same way. I am owed a for part January, Febuary and up until I quit in March. Friends are also owed December, January and February until they quit. Houck and TTD both subcontract work from Superior Global Solutions in Texas.

This whole "you get paid when we get paid" scenario needs to get shut down. I understand being desperate for a job but you could do better working at Wal-Mart and you'd get paid on time. They should not be in business if they cannot afford to pay their MTs on a regular pay schedule. They want their work done on time, don't they. Maybe you should tell them "you get work, when I get paid." I think NO one should take a job like that and then they'd be forced to change their business practices.

I received my first pay check from them today for the exact amount I invoiced them. Granted, it is not ideal to have to wait that long...but they are up front about it. It is not a secret that they keep. Granted the pay is also low, but I find it a very easy account and I make more on it than I did making 11/line on a very difficult account. It might not be the ideal situation....but it is working for me...and they do pay!

their bills on time should work for a company with "you get paid when I get paid" in the contract (many doctor offices in fact do not pay on time). This means that the company does not have the resources to run an MT business. I know, been burned before and as IC there is no recourse except small claims court, and if you live in a different state than the employer then good luck with that. Cut your losses and get out now before any more time working for free.

I just need to jump in here as I'm a current MT. TTD INC treats us MTs wonderfully! Yes, the very first pay cycle was a 30-day cycle, but after that, we are promply paid every two weeks. She sends out checks on the 10th & 25th of each month. The new hire paperwork clearly lays all of this out.

I must also warn some of you that there were some MTs that left TTD only to come crawling back a couple weeks later as they quickly found out that the grass is not greener on the other side. TTD offers us incentives, raises, contests, and a competitive line rate. What we get paid per line is very competitive as compared to what is being offered out there.

I just wanted to jump in and stand up for the company that I work for. It is not fair to bash a company just because you don't agree with every single thing. Just be happy that there are still MT jobs out there for us!

To the poster who posted below looking for information on TTD.  They don't have their own accounts.  They work for Superior Global and maybe others.  Superior pays them to find ICs.  They probably pay them 4 cpl and then TTD pays you a cruddy 3 cpl to edit VR reports.  They don't offer direct deposit because Superior is paying them and then they pay you, which is why you have to wait a month for your check.   I would never work for a company that is just bascially an agency hir ...

I recently graduated form CS and I have been looking for a job for the past 2 weeks. TTD offered me a job without doing any testing and I thought that was odd. They have an ad on this site hiring at 8 cents and 3 cents for straight typing and editing.  But, on another site, they have an ad for the same exact thing but the pay is 7 cents for straight typing and 2.5 cents for editing!  Are you kidding?!?!?!?!  I hope no one applies for that job, even if you are desperate! So glad I am getting out of this line of slave work.  ...
