TTS...First Impressions - newgirl

Posted: Apr 11, 2014

Yes it's only been 2 days, but my first impression is pretty good.

Half of Day 1 was spent in training. Second half of Day 1 was spent doing reports and sending them to QA for 100% review.  This was a total of only 5 reports.  At the end of Day 1, I was told that my work was "outstanding" and that I was being released from 100% review, and that from now on I was to send my work directly to the client.  I was really surprised by this...seems a little fast and a very small sample size for them to take me off 100% review, and I hadn't encountered many of the "what if's" yet...(ie, what to do about unclear carbon copies or unsure patient demos or things that are unclear in the account specs, etc), but I guess I'll cross those bridges when I come to them.

Here's the really good part. Day 2, I worked my regular 8-hour shift. NO ONE BOTHERED ME ALL DAY. I was completely left alone to do my work. I know who to contact if I need help, but otherwise I didn't bug them and they didn't bug me.  I hope this continues!!!

Another pleasant surprise...the VR creates the best drafts I've ever seen. There's no denying their pay per line is way too low, but I feel like I still might be able to make more than minimum wage there and not hate every minute of it. Hahaaa.

Those echo my first impressions and you know what? - happyatlast

It continues like that. They leave me alone and visa versa. Best VR drafts ever! Popping out reports like crazy and hitting over my 250 LPH with no problem. Making way more than minimum wage and happy as can be. Waiting to wake up and have this be a dream.

You are surely not on my accounts.. They have the worst ESL I've heard in years! sm - Done

and I spend a LOT of time fixing the nasty VR.

I'm sorry you have to endure that. I did with iMedX/GIS - worst ever and lowest pay.

It's not fun at all. Hope you get a break soon and can once again enjoy your job.

Same good experience as...sm - Old Anon

the first 2 posters, over 2 years now. Of course, I have some nasty ESLs but I'm used to them now. Management knows they are nasty and frequently sends us samples of the worst.
Yes, management has been very supportive. - happyatlast

I also must say that the client specs I have received are the most clear and concise I have ever seen. There is always room for some improvement, but overall quite thorough and all-encompassing.

Me too, just started but very pleased so far. - anon

The VR on the account I am on is fantastic, even the ESL.

Pay seems low in the 3.5/6 cpl range but they pay for headers and footers and my first day I was easily doing 250 lph.

QA doesn't seem insanely nitpicky either.

The VR is really good. Why is that the company - happyatlast

[ In Reply To ..]
that produced the VR has the worst drafts? Interesting isn't it? Nuance has absolutely the WORST VR drafts in the business and they are the one who developed it. hmmmm...

Because the drafts - barbiedollxz

are created by the MTs doing the accounts. I learned the hard way that you can have good drafts one day and horrible ones a week later if bad MTs get on the accounts. they apparently have good MTs. I just started with them too recently and other than being on QA forever due to the account I was hired on, I am very happy with the company so far.

no name - this sounds fishy to me.. guess they have to give

[ In Reply To ..]
Must be hurting them and cant get people to take that low pay and has to do some damage control and cheerleading.. kudos to you...
but i know this isnt true...

Those are my exact thoughts on the company I - sm

just started with....same experience with being released from QA very quickly, being left alone, told I am doing outstanding...everything!!!

If it is ok, then fine - Lillie

When your man is all that and a bag of chips, do you shout that from the top of your lungs so others want also? I work at TTS also. When you have it all, what do you think the next person wants? Think about it. I keep my mouth closed. Don't believe in advertising.

Must give credit where credit is due. - no message

You do know this is a board asking feedback on MT companies, right? - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
This board is for people to post positive or negative experiences regarding MTSOs. I'm not sure what you're saying? That if someone likes their job, they should keep their "mouth closed"?
What I think this person is saying is that TTS is a - good company and
[ In Reply To ..]
she doesn't want us all to run apply and take her work from her. JMO
But if it was such a good company... - then
[ In Reply To ..]
why would they suddenly over-hire for no reason except that they received a lot of resumes? ;)
How sad, this board used to be about going to - see who was good to work for
[ In Reply To ..]
Now you apparently can never tell if a place is truly horrific (like Nuance) or if people are lying to keep others from applying.

You are absolutely right, why go and tell the world - you have the jackpot
[ In Reply To ..]
Not saying TTS is a jackpot per se but you know what I meant. I think others just like to start stuff.
3 cpl per line - is NOT
[ In Reply To ..]
a jackpot in any sense of the word. Chamber pot, maybe, not jackpot.
Sorry to break this news to you but I make more - than 4 cents a line, and
[ In Reply To ..]
on my account can do about $150 or more a day. Better than most today.
why are you - sorry
[ In Reply To ..]
what an *odd* thing to say. Think what you would be making if you were paid 5 cpl or more! Don't convince yourself that a company actively taking advantage of the ruination of MT wages is a *good* place, that is solipstic.

How old are you that you have not heard that saying - before, sorry to break the news
[ In Reply To ..]
Not odd at all. What I find odd is that a grown person would not have heard this saying before. Google it if you find it "odd."

I will say again, make more than the 3 and make what I like.

Methinks you posted in the wrong spot! I was talking about - sm

MY company....not TTS!!

I've been at TTS for 1.5 to 2 weeks now, & rarely get in 8 hours, but that's because I'm typing for a clinic that's open 5 days a week & that's my only account right now. I've been told that I'll get a secondary account when I get off the orientation team. No offense to the team, but I can't wait. I made more lines my first days with TTS & probably still doing so (haven't checked as life hit me upside the head the last week) than I've ever made with the other companies I've worked for. So far, TTS is a good company to work for, but I will say this. If you apply, be sure you have at least 5 megs of DSL speed, make sure you have 4 gigs of memory on your computer & make sure you have a USB foot pedal (go to transcriptiongear.com; they have 'em for about $70). So far, I've had to spend close to $100 just to get ready to work for them, but I'm hoping in the long run, it'll be worth it.

So Refreshing to hear positive feedback on a company! - HomeMT

IMPRESSION Vs IMPRESSIONS
Dec 29, 2014

I've been an MT for over 10 years and have always just typed IMPRESSION, even when there are multiples, but I'm seeing other MT's type "IMPRESSIONS" and also "PLANS" when there are more than one, even when the doctor is only dictating IMPRESSION (though we would change DIAGNOSIS to SES if more than one but not dictated). I searched the archives and found one mention of this before, but there wasn't much conclusion on the matter. So what say ye?  ...
