SoftScript ad for more radiology MTs - while I sit and wait

I wanted sooo bad for SS to work out for me.. I know.. you all have said many many times there wasn't enough work but nobody could tell me about radiology. I applied and got the job, and have been sitting around for weeks now waiting for more accounts. I'm dying here! Give me the work, don't hire more!!!

I know you said nobody could tell you about radiology, but why would they be different. they just don't give a flip about anybody. I would call my manager and literally be crying, still got no work. I hate those people. scum.

I suggest you and everone else not getting enough work there APPLY for those - positions from the the ad. sm

Those not already working there - click the 'apply to' link direct from the ad and ask them something like "why would I apply when your people are hurting for work?" or whevver.

Would certainly be wonderful to swamp their inboxes with a message.

new MT and the manager said she'd add accounts but yet has to. Why hire me in the first place? Why tell me you'll give me accounts if you don't intend to? This just blows my mind.

From years of reading MTStars, it appears SS is one - of the worst, right up there with M*Modal. (nm)

Back then we were all employees of EdiX here in Florida. They bought out the company I was working for when the owner wanted to retire. Turned out they did want to pay compensation when the system was down which it was frequently. They also did not pay overtime. They demoted our manager. Her daughter broke her leg and even though she they offered disability, with a broken leg, they fired her because she was not able to work and her mother who was the manager of the company they bought out and fired her also. Twelve MTs filed a lawsuit as well as the manager and her daughter with the broken leg. I, along with the 12 other MTs plus the mother and daughter filed a lawsuit for no compensation of downtime or overtime. If you are employee status they have to pay you for downtime and overtime. My suit was the first to win and after that it was a "domino effect" and everyone won their lawsuits against them. They had "fudged" our time sheets and illegally signed our names to try and show we did not have downtime or overtime but I had 2 years' worth of original time sheets documenting all downtime and overtime. Their legal department advised them it was cheaper to pay out the lawsuits rather than to try and litigate them. Settling of all the lawsuits pretty much took them down financially. They sold out to Spheris.

I read the posts about SS but am wondering about the radiology accounts... do they run out of work as well and have the same problems as acute care? I ask as I am currently employed by an MTSO in which there is a big difference between management in radiology and acute care transcriptionists.... being the radiology management is a joke. Does anyone besides me think that the radiology ASR stinks. On almost every report I am having to change/correct every third or fourth word. And is an, punctuation where it doesn't belong, words left out that are dictated, words put in that are not dictated, etc, etc, etc. ...

I have been working acute care for the last 5 years and getting paid by the line. I haven't done radiology in a few years, and when I was working in radiology I always got paid by the hour. Now a local hospital is interested in my helping them out on the weekends with their radiology backlog, and are wanting to pay by report, but I have no idea what the average pay per report should be. Can someone give some idea as to what I should be asking for? Thanks ...

I'm wondering why radiology seems to be its own separate entity in the MT world. It seems like if you know radiology, they'll bend over backwards to hire you. I always have docs saying "a 5 mm foci" in the liver. Since foci is plural of focus, shouldn't it be a 5 mm focus? This isn't an isolated case, have heard many doctors over many years say this, have NEVER heard anyone dictate "a focus" -- they always say "a foci". Is this rad-slang or am I crazy or what? ...
