Orion Transription? - heard of them?

Posted: Jul 30, 2013

I don't even remember applying to Orion, and the only thing I can even find on the boards is from 2010 when they were hiring.  They're hiring for an ortho account.  Does anyone have info on them?

Thank God!! I received an email from them and I thought I was going crazy, cause I didn't remember applying? Thought it might have been nice until I saw "ortho" and straight VR. With the way things are going for me, my paycheck is worse than when I first started!! I'm not sure I'm making MW!! And I do NOT understand what the hell is going on??

It'll be interesting to see how many more MTs post that they were contacted, as well. Do you supposed they're a company that had a different name and changed it to Orion (to fool us)?

Really, almost sounds like Amphion!! Almost, I felt really good about myself again! Darn, I'm not special after all! LOL!!

Oh, we're still special, even if we've never heard of Orion. Hee-hee! You mentioned Amphion. I had thought about applying there. Are you saying it's not a good company? Spill the beans, please. :)

a very long time. I know, because when I was trying to start my own business, I wanted to use the same name and could not because it was already being used. They are a legit company. How or why they contacted anyone is beyond anybody's understanding. But they are not Amphion or any other company that was supposedly bought out. Paranoia is rampant these days. If you are curious, ask them directly instead of speculating and starting unfounded rumors or tension.

I worked for Orion a few years back. They are one of the better companies to work for. The owner and QA staff are all very nice and helpful. Work is consistent and pay is on time. They used the Emdat/Inscribe platform at that time, which is easy to learn. The accounts are about 50/50 as far as ESLs and challenging doctors, but you can pull up prior reports with Emdat. Another good thing about Orion, they do not overstaff the pools. I worked the same 2 accounts while I worked for them.

They have a web site. They don't outsource - and do not hire MTs

outside of USA. That alone sounds good.

Offshoring Transription

I was so glad to see this information posted regarding the American Transcription Association (ATA)… and offshoring medical transcription.  All of the points made are totallly valid. I agree with every bit of it. However, what they failed to mention is the fact that many medical transcription companies lie to their cuistomers about using outsourcing for their work.  They save money by not having to pay them as much for the transcription, but most of their wor ...

Has Anyone Heard Of Seascript Transription?

I recently received an email from this company, which seems to be a very small MTSO.  They sent "test files," for me to do, after signing a release, which I did.  The company sent several emails, stating that they expected 99.9% accruracy, changing tenses in the report, i.e., when I heard "which," it was changed to "that."  I actually did 8 reports, and sent her an invoice for pay, which should have been paid either yesterday or today.  When I expressed "general concerns," I ...
