Does anyone work part time for Medquist and if so is the work regular and do they leave you alone? I'm not crazy about being an employee but there aren't a lot of IC spots out there so have to give in.

I just stopped working for Medquist, but I was a part-timer, 24 hours a week. They do basically leave you alone, but they have ridiculous policies about taking time off. They are extremely rigid. In almost 30 years, I've never encountered a company with these kinds of policies, i.e. if you miss work you HAVE to make it up. I don't know, maybe I was spoiled? They do have good work flow. Since I left, you can probably get a job there! Good luck!

I'm supposed to be full-time, but because of lack of work, I'm working less than part-time. got 31 hours in an 80-hour shift. Good luck.

After all the negative posts, I told them I wasn't interested. I tested in their office years ago and scored and tested in the 80's and went back again and scored a 94 and they still didn't hire me so they are off my list. Thanks for the input everyone.

most places won't even consider you if you are below a 98% on testing. Consider yourself lucky on the Q issue! :)

While I was taking the test in their office there was all sorts of noise as people were standing around talking right on top of me and a FEDEX guy came over to me and asked me to sign for a package so that tells you how bad my chances were of scoring high and being able to concentrate. I even wrote them a letter about it and got no response.

RUN AWAY FAST! Read the MQ board. It is the worst place many of us have ever worked. They constantly change your pool and your all over the place. RUN FAST!

I worked for MQ full time and then went to part time last year, before finally quitting altogether because of health problems. Does anyone care to share that if you are hired at optiscript part time will they let you change to full time easily? I know they are a small company and do not over hire so I do not know how easily this could be done. I'm considering dropping to part-time. I checked out the MQ Central for the specs and it indicates 24 hours/0.03 PTO per 48 hr pay period/1.37 hours for a max of 5 days/40 hours yearly. My CCM said if I happened to work 39 hours in a week, I'd get more PTO accumulated during that time. She said there are PT folks who get just as much PTO as the FT do. I was talking to my CCM last week and she said the facilities just let them know they do not need them anymore, just like that. They go with their own VR.
