Fox Transcribe, can copy and paste from word to word pad? - copy/paste

Posted: Jun 25, 2012

Can anyone who works with Fox Transcribe tell me if you can copy and paste from word to word pad? Since word pad does not have spell check OR auto correct, I wondered about that. Thank you!

I have been using Word and copying and pasting and don't seem to have any kinds of problems. The only problem I have is the length and all the speakers -- LOL

Lol, yeah...I hear ya!

Fox Transcribe-also - How long?

[ In Reply To ..]
How long does it take you to type a 30-minute report? If you don't mind me asking. Thank you!

How long - nn

[ In Reply To ..]
Well not an incredibly fast typist, so probably 60-90 minutes depending on number of speakers, etc. I have been having problems too with my Express Scribe and finding out that the rewind is terrible. Also have had to "fiddle" with it to make sure that the reports that need to be time stamped are properly stamped. To some extent too, I find it incredibly boring and really trying to put my all into it, but can't.

Fox transcribe also question - newby

I know they pay weekly but how long does it take to get your first pay and does it only include those things out of review? I've had stuff sit waiting for review for days already, so it kind of seems to defeat the point of rushing to meet deadline. Thanks much!
Newby Question - nn
[ In Reply To ..]
Well, just got notification of my first VERY small payment, but again, havent really done much, having just started, so we will see if this week is better. They send payment notification via email.

Fox Transcribe - time stamp, inaudibles

[ In Reply To ..]
How do you do your timestamps in word? I use express scribe and can't figure out a way to get time stamps in there and auto corrects for my "inaudible" stuff either. Thanks!

Look on the FT forum - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
If you go to the forum on the Fox Transcribe website there is a post about this exact thing. I found it extremely helpful. It tells you how to set up Express Scribe so that when you're typing you just press F1 and then Control V to paste the time stamp into your transcript.

Confused - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Ok, I work with Fox and I'm a bit confused. Why would you want to paste from Word into Word Pad?

Fox Transcribe - copy/paste

[ In Reply To ..]
Because there is no auto correct with word pad or spellcheck. Word has both..It's easier that way for me anyway. If you have an easier, I would appreciate your tips. Thanks!

Still confused - MT

[ In Reply To ..]
So you don't want to type in Word because of the auto correct and the spell check? Aren't those GOOD things to have?
Can someone answer a question real quick please? sm - FT question
[ In Reply To ..]
I am trying to submit my application but this formatting seemed odd so I wanted to double check. Do you really capitalize each new line? You indent the second line of each paragraph, not the first line? Seems strange so just wanting confirmation. TYIA!
Wondering about this too. Did you ever get an answer? nm - applying

no (sm) - New @ KS
[ In Reply To ..]
No, you don't capitalize each new line, just wrap around normally. I never saw this in the instructions. You should tell your supervisor it doesn't make sense and should be taken out.
Thanks for the answer. I already submitted my ap - FT question
[ In Reply To ..]
though so not sure. That's how I interpreted the instructions so that is what I did. Perhaps I didn't pass by doing it that way though because I haven't heard from anyone yet.
Fox Transcribe - copy/paste
[ In Reply To ..]
I type in Word and have to copy and paste from there because Word pad does NOT have auto correct or spell check.
Why - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
Why are you pasting it into Word Pad? Why don't you just save the document in Word and then upload it to them??

Like you, I was an MT for 12 years. Recently was working for a company I couldn't stand. I stumbled across FoxTranscribe on MTdaily or one of these websites and applied about 3 weeks ago. Sure enough I got approved to be a freelancer and I began typing while still working for the other company. I receive about 100 emails a day from FoxTranscribe regarding reports that need to be transcribed. However, you got to be quick because all the good ones go FAST! Later at night it's not so cut-throat. I received my first 2 emails from paypal on Mondays stating that Foxtranscribe has made a deposit into my paypal account. Tech support is a little slow to respond sometimes, but for the most part they are pretty prompt, especially if you email them.

I am now ending my third week of working for Fox and my next deposit should be around $250 and again this is only typing very part time and in between my MT job. My husband and I are now discussing quitting my MT job and just working for Fox. Everyone there has been very helpful so far and I have really enjoyed the change in pace. Some down falls...if you're anything like me, you're used to excellent software. Well express scribe is free, but I actually like using Quicktime because I think it has better sound quaility; however, I havent figured out a way to hook up my footpedal with it but I can use the keyboard to start/stop, RR and FF so my hands never have to leave the keyboard. Another thing, sometimes the multiple speakers suck, background noise and lots of cross talk. If your lucky you'll get a one-on-one interview or something along those lines. I am new at it and it takes me about an hour or more to type a 20 mins report, but I'm hoping to get faster with time.

I hope this has been helpful to you. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Need Simple Word 2010 Macro For Copy/Paste
Feb 14, 2014

I've been using Instant Text for years but realized that there are probably quite a few macros I could create in Word 2010 to make certain repetitive commands a lot easier for me.  I know the basics of creating a macro in Word but cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a macro to do this: I want to copy text,(i.e. from a Preoperative Diagnosis) and have it pasted into the next line after the heading Postoperative Diagnosis when the dictator says "same." Nov 07, 2014

Is there a way in AutoCorrect (Word 2010) to change a comma to a period and then cap the next word to make VR go a little faster?  The platform at my old company did this automatically, but MS Word does not : ( This is so frustrating having to change from a comma to a period (or vice versa)--which as you all know happens constantly...and then change the next word to be capitalized (or uncapped)....my wrists are killing me, not to mention it takes so much TIME..... Just have to vent.  I have been filling out applications for days.  I know MTSOs can set any requirements they want, but you would think that if there is a very specific requirement that instantly disqualifies some Medical Transcriptionists, that would be right up there at the top, BEFORE they ask you to sign in and answer a bunch of questions (including providing reference names and attaching a resume).  I did all that, and THEN, I got the following message: "Thank you for your ...
