Comcast Subcontractor Post Question - CAMT

Posted: Sep 12, 2013

Back around the first part of the year, there was a poster who was discussing how one of her relatives was subcontracted through a company to work as an at-home IT rep for Comcast (working from home taking customer calls, setting their own hours to take calls, etc)., and I can't find the post anywhere in the archives.

I wrote down the name of the company the poster named to contact and now, of course, I can't find it.

If that poster sees this, would you be so kind as to post it again?  Or if you're a reader who did see the post and wrote down the contact information, would you be so kind as to respond either to this thread or in an email?

Thanks so much!

I saw an ad for rep positions to take in-bound - realist

calls for one of the big cell phone providers...

You might try researching that for possible at-home work.

If I remember correctly, their ad said the rep would receive in-bound calls and troubleshoot problems, take orders, etc. They would fully train. I wish I'd written it down now.

Yep, that's the one I remember, too - Sounded ideal for my SIL

Thanks so much...I'm going to try research again. Wish I could have found the original post through the search engine here, ugh.

I don't understand. Why not just go to comcast's website - and check it out? NM

[ In Reply To ..]
??? google comcast for website, think?

It wasnt a Comcast job, it was subcontracted by another company - The poster gave the name of it

[ In Reply To ..]
It's a place that trains you and then they subcontract their people, and one of their biggest places apparently was Comcast. I wish it were as easy as contacting Comcast for the information, LOL!

oh, sorry. Missed that. Thanks for clairifying. - anon n.m.

Hey all! I have Comcast high speed internet and am paying a $7/mo rental fee for using their modem. If anyone out there uses a store-bought modem with Comcast, would you mind naming the brand? With my luck, I will pick the wrong kind and have problems right after taking the Comcast one back. Actually, if anyone thinks I should stick with the rental, I would like your opinion, too. Question On Post Vs Status Post
Oct 22, 2009

Sometimes I'm not sure what to do when they say "post" ... something. I know if it is postauricular (for example), it is attached ... but how about post aneurysmal surgery?  It does not seem like it would be attached.  - Is it proper to leave it stand-alone or should I change it to status post ... or actually attach it? There Was A Post Regarding IC/Emp And IRS That Was
May 11, 2010

It was a post that very clearly stated some IRS stuff and some case law, I believe?  There is a group of us who worked for a company and pretty much all of us got burned!  And we're talking tens of thousands of dollars collectively in one month!  So, I am doing some reasearch to see if this former company violated the IC status by paying an hourly wage and need some concrete stuff to make my case.  I tried an archive search, but that didn't work.  It was just w ...

PTO And My Former Post
Jul 13, 2011

After so many questioned my former post, I reviewed MQ's PTO policy.  They state a maximum of 18 days for full-time employees which is 3 days more than I was offered when I last worked full-time (after 30 years).  For those of you who say you are getting 22 or 28 days - I don't know how you managed it but consider yourselves lucky.  I  hope you continue to get it.  And by the way, when I take time off now it is unpaid (as a flexible part-time employee) and was ...

From The Post Below, About MTs
Aug 17, 2012

http://hdstoday.com/?tag=mmodal Below are highlights of the news article In light of the One Equity Partners purchase of M*Modal, I predicted that within the next 12 to 18 months we may see OEP turn around and sell off M*Modal’s speech recognition technology to the likes of Microsoft, especially if Apple spends some of its cache of cash on Nuance. A $12 billion buyout of Nuance by Apple would dwarf the $1.2 billion M*Modal acquisition, and it would also put control of a huge chunk o ...

Saw A Post And Can't Find It Now About
Feb 17, 2010

I know exactly the company you are talking about and have wondered the same thing. The person who wrote the rules must not have a full understanding of the VR program. At this company, we are supposed to adhere to the account specifics to a T if we type on the account, but if we get a VR job on that same account we are supposed to ignore the account specifics and leave it as VR puts it unless there are blatant errors. That makes NO SENSE. Why not train VR correctly in the first place so the repo ...
