Anyone working or did work with Saince (Indian co) ? - mywords

I did radiology and HIM work 13 years for hospital and was outsourced to Saince (Indian Co), has anyone else ever worked for them ? It is getting so bad there, go hours without work, pay is very low (4.5 cents editing and straight 8.5 but hardly any of that), i have to pay $150 per pay period (300 month) for insurance. I am now 63 years old and I live alone, but I have so much experience going back to the late 70s working in doctor offices, 2 hospitals, orthopedic clinics, etc. and I was even in nursing for a while as an LPN. But if I didn't have to pay bills and house payments, I would not have joined them, they have left me a depressed woman and the more I work it seems the less I get. I feel trapped. I built up a career to where I could live my life independently and they cut my salary at least 60% and hospitals let them do this. Do we have any rights? Do transcriptionist have unions? We need to unionize or something. We haven't any advocates for us and this is a shame to see what has been done to us just because they could do it. Don't work for Saince, they lie, they don't care about anyone. You will never go up in pay. It is really a sorry place to work. If anyone out there has been with these people at Saince, please relate your experience with them. Thanks.

Pay increases - are you kidding me. All I've experienced is pay cuts for the last few years to the extent I lost my home and now living in someone's basement can't make ends meet. I'm your age - this industry is a rip off and it needs to be reported.

OMG, I have an interview soon. I did not know they were owned by a company in India. I will think more about this, the pay seems to be low as well. I do not want to go from frying pan to fire. Thanks for the insight into this company.

No I have not worked for Saince. But you are not alone. Join. The. Club. I have been doing this for 30 years. I used to make 55-60K a year. I now make, if I'm lucky 35K a year. It's pathetic. The work is harder. The sound is horrible, etc. etc. I have had no health care for the last 5 years because I don't make enough to pay for it. I have been forced into retirement at age 62 because they keep dropping my pay, one way or the other, and I am absolutely sick of it!!!!!!!! I agree with you wholeheartedly. Our job is hard at times. Our job is a very specialized field. And, I challenge anyone to do it for just 1 day. Retire and figure it out. I did and I too have a house payment, a car payment and renovated kitchen that I acquired before they moved me to different accounts and started making $1,000 less a month. It sucks. It's life. I'm sorry to sound a "bit rough around the edges", but it is what it is. Retire before it drives you crazy. That's what I did, and I'm much happier. God Bless You ;-)

Thank you for letting me know I am not alone. This was a once plentiful 'career,' as they used to call it. I even had unemployment ask me sarcastically how come I could not make line count after years of experience. I wished he would have tried it for 1 day...I double dare anyone. Walk in an MTs shoes and see the abuse. Asked our state representative's office to even take the 'test' on line...no response.

Outourced from good-paying hospital job with benefits and no-cost health insurace 2 years ago at 62, got full-time job with MTSO making 50% less (SR)but needed health insurance. Had to raid my IRA for a few months until I took SS at 63. I'm still working full time until April when I turn 65 and can get Medicare, then can go part time. Thank goodness for SS. If you have made good money previously, your SS benefit should be very good and you can probably find a decent health plan through the ACA until you turn 65. If you need to supplement SS, you could find something part time in MT or elsewhere. Good luck.

that is paying 3 cents on the dollar soon and have also signed up for the ACA and though it is high for people making decent salaries, MTs don't generally fall in that category any longer. I have a real good policy that I have to pay only $65/month. The real winner on the ACA is the insurance companies though as they say that policy is worth $563/mo, a policy almost identical to the one I had been paying for $198/mo until November. Anyway, I digress. I plan on retiring the minute I turn 62 and if I get fired before then, all I can say about that is whoopee!!!!!

Anyway, look into the ACA. It really is affordable for the working poor. (most of us). I only work part time so don't qualify for the poor insurance Nuance offers as it is for full timers but this works out so much better in that regard. If you are working for insurance, think about not qualifying for their insurance if you can go part time or since you are just getting SS, you can get your insurance through the ACA until you are 65.

I have job offers for both. Saince is Behavioral Health and TTS is Acute Care. I have read all infromation from both companies pros and cons. The hours are about the same. The one thing that worries me about one company is if your QA audit is not where it should be, MT is penalized to only working 30 minutes a day until audit score is brought up. Avoid Saince. They are intrusive, constantly calling and they don't pay. They hijacked my PC for 33-1/2 hours and their paperwork said they pay $10 an hour and then today I was told they only pay a flat rate $100. HELLO!! THEY OWE ME $335 BEFORE TAXES THANK YOU! Saince Transcription no longer has a QA Staff. They let them all go about a month ago. The MTs have been divided into teams with a team leader who is doing all the QA for the team. This poor team leader is really doing the QA for nothing, they get an extra 10% on their cpl rate to offset doing the QA, but sounds like that could really cut down your production.
