as opposed to MTs. They tell whomever they are working for what they charge, unlike MTs who have to take the pittance that is offered to them. At one time ICs made more to cover for taxes, but obviously that was changed and we had no recourse; either accept it or find another job.
I will never work as an IC again, unless I can state what I charge for the services that I am providing and I will never work for a transcription company again, unless I am an employee which isn't going to happen. Needless to say, it's a good thing I found another line of work as an employee. I got to the point that I just had enough of being abused, ripped off and hardly made any money to speak of, not even as supplemental income. Good riddance to those devil companies. They should all burn.
