MT isn't dead, but it's on life support in North America. I've been at this a looong time, refuse to do scribing (the pay is an insult and it's stressful, plus I don't get to set my own hours? no thanks) - so I started with an Aussie company and wow. Nice people (I mean, really NICE) and the work is super straightforward once you get used to the accent. The only problem is the exchange rate but I heard that they make arrangements with US MTs (I'm not from the US). I've taken a cut since my MQ days but overall, it's been really good.
