As for your question, it is quite obvious to anyone in this business for any period of time, what is happening with the job openings and the MT market. Please read the following partial list slowly for comprehension:

Jobs shipped overseas
Companies going out of business
Overhiring
Accounts being lost
VR being utilized more and more
Companies being called out for their dishonesty and nonpayment (limiting their ability to post jobs and get workers)

If you read the board, you will find many more reasons. It does not take a mental giant to figure out what is happening with the lack of job postings and opportunities.
